A little about me and my life as a disability carer 〰️

Hi, I’m Sherri, the person behind BEE KYND. I’m a mum and a disability support worker, and caring for others is a big part of my life.

Being a carer means listening, advocating, celebrating the little wins and being there through the challenging days too. It has taught me how much patience, understanding and the right support can mean to someone and their family.

Through BEE KYND, I want every person we support to feel heard, respected and valued. Everyone’s journey is different, and I believe support should reflect the person, their choices and what matters to them. 🌿

🌿 Welcome to the BEE KYND team, Jordan! 🌸

Jordan loves keeping active at the gym, enjoying walks with her son and being a dog mum to her gorgeous Rottweiler. She’s also a music lover who enjoys discovering new places to eat!

We’re so happy to have you on board, Jordan, and look forward to introducing you to our BEE KYND team. 💚

🌿 Focus on what you can influence 🌿

When life feels overwhelming, it can help to pause and notice where you can take one small step.

We can’t control the weather, the past or other people’s actions. But we can look for ways to care for ourselves, ask for support and communicate our boundaries where possible.

Be gentle with yourself. You don’t have to figure everything out today, and you don’t have to do it alone.

Living with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) means carrying so much that other people never see. The uncertainty, the grief as everyday things change, and the effort it can take just to get through a day.

There can be tears, anger, laughter and beautiful moments, sometimes all in the same afternoon. You don’t have to feel brave or positive every day. The hard days deserve understanding too.

MND reaches beyond one person. Families and loved ones feel it deeply, trying to support someone they love while wishing they could do more.

Please keep showing up. Send the message. Make time for a visit. Listen without needing to find the perfect words. And always see the person—their humour, their wishes, their stories and everything that makes them who they are.

To everyone living with MND, and everyone beside them: you deserve support, connection and to be heard. 💙
