Emotionally Focussed Therapy (EFT) for couples and families is based on attachment theory. In particular, secure attachment, repairing emotional bonds between partners. The goal is to move partners from negative, reactive stuck cycles towards responsive emotional engagement where both partners feel heard and validated by each other. Sonia at Aveley Counselling Services specialises in Emotionally Focussed Therapy and has nine years experience in this mode.
