Asthma Week shines a spotlight on the experiences of the more than 2.8 million Australians living with asthma.
It’s a chance to put asthma on the kitchen table by encouraging open conversations with family and friends and raising awareness of the impact asthma can have on everyday life.

🌬️As Australia’s national consumer organisation for asthma, Asthma Australia leads Asthma Week and encourages everyone to learn more, share their experiences, and take action for better asthma health.

This year’s theme, “Shining a Light on Women and Asthma”, explores how hormonal changes throughout life can affect asthma and what women need to know to stay in control of their symptoms.🩵

❤️Red Nose Day was the first ever national fundraising day of its kind in Australia. This much-loved and iconic event began in the hope of raising awareness and funds for SIDS research. The first campaign was a huge success, raising over $1.3 million and selling over one million red noses!

Part of that success was due to the Red Nose Day tagline – getting silly for a serious cause – which encourages people to go out and do something fun - wear a red nose, look a bit silly and make people smile, without taking away from the seriousness of the cause. To this day it still brings together communities all across Australia to make a difference for families in need. 🐞

Because of Red Nose Day, we now have an evidence-based safe sleep program and other resources that parents, carers and health professionals can implement to reduce the risk of babies dying in their sleep, which is estimated to have saved over 12,500 little lives.

The $18 million raised for research since the first Red Nose Day has catalysed research into the reasons why babies die suddenly in their sleep. 🌹

Today, Red Nose Day funds research into SIDS and stillbirth, and provides free support to families that have experienced SIDS, stillbirth, SUDI, and miscarriage, among other things.

🌼 This Daffodil Day, let’s grow hope together. 🌼

Daffodil Day celebrates the lives saved through cancer research and the hope it brings for powerful new treatments to come.

When Daffodil Day first took root in 1986, the 5-year cancer survival rate was approximately 46%. Today, thanks to the incredible support of the community and funding for cancer research, survival has increased to 72%. 💛

Cancer Council supports families affected by cancer, speaks up on important cancer issues, empowers people to reduce their cancer risk, and funds research to find new ways to better detect and treat cancer.

💛 It takes many hands to take on cancer. Together, we can help create a future where fewer people are affected by this disease.
