Day 1 of Women's Health Week is to fuel 🥗

Food is fuel. But eating well can feel like one more thing on an already long list – too expensive, too time-consuming or just too hard to get right.

So let's get back to basics.

Today we're exploring practical nutrition tips, expert insights and the simple food habits that can make a real difference to how you feel. Because when it comes to eating well, doing it anyway doesn't have to mean doing it perfectly.

Whether it's adding more protein to your breakfast, eating more vegetables at dinner, or simply remembering to eat lunch – it all counts. Today is about finding what works for you.

Head to the link in comments to explore Day 1.

💙 From a grant application to changing lives.

When Active Health Portland applied to the Community Grants Program, their vision was simple – make physiotherapist-led clinical reformer Pilates more accessible for people living with chronic conditions, reduced mobility and those recovering from injury. They recognised the importance of not only improving physical health, but also reducing isolation through small, supportive group classes.

Today, that vision is becoming a reality.

🏃‍♀️ They are now running five full classes every week, with just two participants per class to ensure personalised physiotherapy support. Demand has been so strong that they are already planning to add another 4–5 classes each week.

Participants include people recovering from sporting injuries, surgery and stroke, as well as those living with Parkinson's disease, chronic pain, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue and POTS.

One of the most rewarding outcomes has been hearing from people who never believed this type of exercise would be possible for them.

"I have had a lot of comments from patients who never thought this type of exercise would be possible who are now loving each class, building more confidence in exercising and excited to be participating."

The benefits go beyond physical rehabilitation. By intentionally keeping class sizes small and pairing participants who may connect socially, these sessions are also helping build friendships, motivation and confidence.

As Active Health Portland shared:

"We are so very grateful for the opportunity to offer exercise classes using a reformer and tailored to individual needs of people who would otherwise not have access to this activity."

💙 This is exactly why United Way Glenelg invests in local community-led ideas.

No new patients until May 2026

Unfortunately, due to my current bookings, I will not be taking on new patients (general and pelvic health) until May. If you already have an initial appointment with me, this will not be affected.

It is a priority to me that I am providing a high standard of care with continuity for my current patients and so this decision reflects that and will improve rebooking timelines.

Thanks for your understanding.
