Heading to the supermarket this weekend? 🛒🍎

To most people, it’s just the weekly grocery shop.

To an Occupational Therapist, it’s an opportunity to build skills that last a lifetime.

Every shopping trip is a chance to develop communication, problem-solving, confidence, independence and planning skills through everyday experiences.

This weekend, encourage your child to find an item, remember part of the shopping list, compare products or help pack the trolley. It may seem like a small task, but these everyday moments can make a big difference to their development. 💙

Sometimes, the most ordinary activities create the biggest opportunities for learning.

How often do you ask, “How are you?” and receive nothing more than a one-word answer?

Meaningful conversations with our children don’t always happen naturally, they often need the right prompts.

At Seed Ability, we’ve adapted the GROW acronym to help turn everyday questions into deeper, more connected conversations.

A little pause before our next adventure… 🤍

As our family prepares to welcome baby number three, it’s time for me to step back from my day-to-day role at Seed Ability for a little while.

While I’ll be spending this season soaking up newborn cuddles, I won’t be disappearing completely. As Director, I’ll still be supporting our incredible leadership team behind the scenes, just a little more quietly than usual.

If you don’t hear from me directly over the coming months, you’ll be hearing from one of our amazing team members instead. I have complete confidence in our leadership team and clinicians to continue delivering the exceptional care, support and service that Seed Ability is known for.

Looking around our team now fills me with so much pride. We’ve built something special - a group of passionate, capable people who genuinely care about our clients, each other and our community. Knowing Seed Ability is in such good hands makes this next chapter all the more exciting.

To our clients, families, referrers and community, thank you for your ongoing support. It’s a privilege to do what we do, and I’m so grateful for the trust you’ve placed in us.

I’ll still be cheering the team on from behind the scenes, but for now, I’m looking forward to embracing this precious time with my family.

See you soon,
Bec 🤍

Congratulations to our amazing Key Worker Kelsey, on receiving the A Grade Netball Award on Saturday’s inaugural Mallee Derby! 💛💙

Whether she’s supporting participants to achieve their goals or pulling on the bib each weekend, Kelsey brings dedication, teamwork and genuine care to everything she does.

We’re incredibly proud to have her as part of the Seed Ability team and love seeing her recognised for the commitment, hard work and effort she gives to her netball club every single week. We know firsthand how much determination it takes to return to sport as a new mum, making this recognition even more special.

Congratulations Kels, a well-deserved achievement! 👏🏐

Farewell Eimer!

After almost two and a half years with Seed Ability, it’s time to say “see you later” to our wonderful Occupational Therapist, Eimer.

Throughout her time with us, Eimer has made a meaningful difference in the lives of so many adults and older adults across our community. Her clinical expertise, compassion and dedication have helped clients achieve incredible goals, regain independence and live fuller lives.

Beyond her work with clients, Eimer has been an incredibly valued member of our team. We’ll miss her humour, her kindness, her willingness to support those around her, and the positive energy she brought to work each day.

Eimer is now setting off on a well deserved adventure overseas with her partner before exploring new opportunities around Australia wherever life takes them. We couldn’t be more excited for this next chapter, even if we’re a little sad to see her go.

Thank you Eimer for everything you’ve contributed to Seed Ability. You’ve left a lasting impact on our team and our clients, and you’ll always be part of the Seed Ability family.

This doesn’t feel like goodbye… it feels like see you again someday.

Please join us in wishing Eimer all the very best on her next adventure! 🌏✈️

What if the way we think about behaviour changes the way we respond to it? 💚

Behaviour isn’t always about defiance, attention-seeking or “being naughty.”

Often, it’s communication.

When we begin to see behaviour through the lens of a child’s nervous system, emotions, sensory needs and developing skills, we move from reacting to responding. From judgement to curiosity. From punishment to connection.

That doesn’t mean there are no boundaries or expectations. It means we recognise that children learn best when they feel safe, supported and regulated.

Swipe through these five mindset shifts that can help transform challenging moments into opportunities for connection and growth.

Supporting the people who support our students.

Every day, Learning Support Officers and Education Support Staff make a meaningful difference in the lives of children with additional needs. But sometimes, you need someone to bounce ideas off too.

That’s why we’re launching our FREE LSO & ESS Support Clinic.

Each week throughout Term 3, join our Paediatric Occupational Therapists online to discuss real classroom challenges and receive practical, evidence-based strategies you can use straight away.

Bring your questions about:
✨ Sensory regulation
✏️ Fine motor and handwriting
💬 Communication
🤝 Social skills
🎒 Transitions and routines
💚 Emotional regulation
🌈 Inclusion strategies
🏃 Playground participation
…and so much more.

📅 Commencing: Monday 27 July 2026
💻 Weekly throughout Term 3
⏰ 45-minute Telehealth sessions
💲 FREE

Because when we support educators, we help create classrooms where every child has the opportunity to thrive.

Tag an LSO, ESS staff member or teacher who would love to know about this opportunity. 💚
