You might hear the term
end-of-life doula.

This is often what we’re known as.

For us, it’s about walking alongside individuals and families in the final chapter of life — offering calm, practical and compassionate support.

Not replacing medical care.

Just helping people feel informed… and not alone.

We’ll be sharing more about this at Woronora Heritage Day 🤍

We’ll be at Woronora Heritage Day next week 🤍

Alongside our funeral services,
we also support individuals and families in the lead-up to a death — especially when someone is in palliative care or nearing their final days.

It’s something many people don’t realise exists.

A calm presence, when it matters most.

These hands did more than guide a coffin… they carried a lifetime of moments, stories, and a woman who was deeply loved.
To be chosen as a pall bearer is to be trusted with one final act of care — it says that you mattered, you were loved, and you will never be forgotten. 💜

A beautiful farewell, exactly as he wished 🤍
At St Jerome Catholic Church, his coffin was covered with stunning irises and the church was filled with the beautiful voices of the cantor and organist.
Afterwards, we followed together to his place of rest. Beneath clear blue skies, the priest blessed his final chapter, peacefully surrounded by those who loved him.

I saw a quote that said,

‘Grief isn’t just pain. It’s proof. It’s proof that something beautiful existed. That you were given something worth missing. So on the hard days you must remind yourself:

You wouldn’t trade the love to escape the grief, you wouldn’t erase the happiness to avoid the pain, and you will endure a lifetime of missing them, for the privilege of having loved”

As I lay here awake, while everyone's asleep, I look at our beautiful new logo which takes me back to where we started. On Dandelion Day, 5th April 2023.

Nicque came over to my place and she pulled out a flip chart (seriously old school but effective 😂)

We began planning on how to make things easier for our grieving families. How to make farewells more authentic. How to ignore what other funeral companies were doing, but rather stick to what we believed in. We were determined to not make money our motivation and to let our hearts lead us.

Some days were hard. Other days were harder. We'd find ourselves sobbing in our cars. Some days we'd laugh along with guests at the funny anecdotes shared by friends and families.

Yet always, always...we felt deeply connected to the deceased and upheld their dignity, with our care behind the scenes, because that was, and will continue to be, our promise to the people who loved them, the people who trust us to care for them 🙏🏾 This is an honour we'll never take for granted.

Together with our devoted team at The Last Time Funerals, we know that in 3 years and hundreds of funerals later, we've made a difference to so many lives.

Our work truly matters as we continue to carry families through the most difficult times, 'their' Last Times. And with every goodbye, we believe there is hope.

Not all goodbyes are endings.
Like a dandelion seed
carried by the breeze,
it doesn't simply end...it moves.
It travels.
It settles.

And somewhere,
in ways we may not see,
it grows again ♡
I'm drifting off now, goodnight.

What a grand 96 years — a life truly lived to its fullest.
Today we farewelled an incredible woman — competitive in her sports, and talented with a paintbrush. A proud golf club member, it felt only right to gather in a place she loved, surrounded by the grounds that were her happy place.
In one of the most beautiful gestures, her family invited each guest to take home one of her original watercolours — a lasting piece of her, shared among the many lives she touched. 💛
