physical body! Pilates is a form of exercise developed in the 1920’s to work the mind and muscle in harmony, and is great for those looking to achieve graceful movement, long lean muscles and a strong stream lined physique. Pilates is a common method of mind-body fitness and is gentle enough to be used by physiotherapists as a rehabilitation tool, right through to top level dancers and athletes for body conditioning. This form of exercise works to strengthen all of the muscles in the body, is low impact and is one of the most effective ways to change body shape, improve posture and tone up. Exercise regimes are challenging and can achieve fantastic results for any fitness level or any age. From those wishing to improve their strength, flexibility, and physical fitness, to those with injuries, or during pregnancy. In short this form of exercise is great for anyone. To see noticeable results in a relatively short period of time Pilates should be practiced regularly for three, one hour sessions per week. Power on Pilates understands that a busy work/life schedule does not always allow for this. We invite people from all walks of life, with a range of personal fitness goals and remind everyone to leave their ego at the door! We ask only that our students commit to achieving their own personal best, and focus mind to mat during the regular sessions they attend to get the best possible results. Why would I attend sessions at Power on Pilates rather than attending sessions at the gym?

• Train with a knowledgeable qualified Pilates trainer, who is passionate about bringing a high standard of Pilates training to clients and is always looking for ways to achieve the best results for the client.
• Small group sessions to ensure that all students get the respect and attention they require to progress and achieve their own desired results.
• Friendly, calm environment which puts the client first, encourages personal growth and support to be the best version of one’s self, rather than comparisons and unhealthy competition and judgement.
• Although Pilates is not a team sport as such we encourage a team-work type of environment. Small classes allow for students to build strong social relationships, inspire and support each other through challenging classes.

🍩 Yes, it's International Donut Day...

But more importantly, it's a LONG WEEKEND! 🎉

So if you're planning on enjoying a donut (or three), don't worry—we've got you covered. We'll be open tomorrow morning for all of our usual scheduled classes, giving you the perfect excuse to balance out those weekend treats with a little movement. 😉

Just a reminder that the studio will be closed on Monday for the public holiday, so be sure to book into one of tomorrow's classes if you'd like to get your Pilates fix before enjoying a well-earned day off.

Have a fantastic long weekend, enjoy the extra time with family and friends, and we'll see you in the studio tomorrow morning! 💙

💙 3 Simple Pilates Exercises That May Help With Back Pain 💙

Do you ever wake up with a sore back or feel stiff after sitting all day?

Here are 3 simple Pilates exercises that can help your back feel better:

✅ Pelvic Tilts
Lie on your back with your knees bent and feet flat on the floor. Gently tilt your pelvis so your lower back presses into the floor, then release.
Repeat 10 times.

✅ Cat-Cow Stretch
Start on your hands and knees. Slowly round your back up like a cat, then gently lower your tummy and lift your chest.
Repeat 10 times.

✅ Child's Pose
Kneel on the floor and sit back towards your heels. Stretch your arms out in front of you and relax.
Hold for 30 seconds and breathe slowly.

These gentle movements can help improve flexibility, reduce stiffness and strengthen the muscles that support your spine.

Remember, if an exercise causes pain, stop and speak with a health professional.

You don’t need to be fit to start Pilates 💙

One of the biggest misconceptions we hear is:
“I need to get fitter before I try Pilates.”

That’s exactly what Pilates is for 😊

Our classes are designed to help you gradually build strength, improve mobility and feel more confident in your body at your own pace.

You don’t have to keep up with anyone else. You just have to start.

Ok, so this is what a good chunk of taday has looked like for me. I wish I was enjoying a bit of Netflix,😆 but actually I'm doing a bunch of background work for the studio. Although, I do feel very lucky to be able to work from home, surrounded by the fam. It's definitely days like these where it can feel harder to get motivated and get moving. But there's really no excuse. If you want to achieve your goals, commitment and consistency truly are key. So this is your reminder. Are you ready to get one step closer to achieving your goals today?
