BIG NEWS πŸŽ‰

Starting May 22, I'm taking a huge leap and moving my practice full-time to West Hillhurst. I will be working out of my own room in the upstairs loft located within Nina Aesthetics.

I could not be more excited for this next chapter!

But first, I have to take a moment to honour the place that helped shape me as a practitioner.

Three years at in that little house. I genuinely cannot put into words how much working alongside those practitioners has meant to me. The kindness, the support, the laughs... forever grateful. If you need to fix your sh*t, you gotta check them out.

To my amazing clients, YOU are the reason I get to do this. Thank you for trusting me, showing up, and cheering me on every step of the way. You're truly the best.

Same services, same me, just a fresh new space with maybe a few exciting surprises coming. Stay tuned!

3 years at ALTA Physio πŸ₯‚

I've been so fortunate to work alongside so many talented practitioners who have challenged and inspired my ever-evolving practice in the best way.

To the clients I've had the privilege of working with, thank you for trusting me. You are always the best part of this work.

Grateful for every year so far and excited for what's still to come. ✨️

With International Women's Day tomorrow, I want to give a special nod to the incredible women I've had the honour of working alongside and treating.

You make this work even more meaningful.

Sunday Slow Down β˜•οΈ πŸ“š

In the rush of busy schedules and endless to-do lists, it's so easy to reach for quick fixes and supplements to fill the gaps. But there's something irreplaceable about getting our nutrients straight from whole foods. πŸ„β€πŸŸ«

Real food comes with fiber, antioxidants, and compounds that work together in ways we're still discovering. This book reminds me that slowing down to nourish ourselves properly isn't just about health, it's about honoring our bodies with what they're designed to thrive on.

FALL WISDOM: Trading crop tops for cozy layers πŸ‚

As temperatures drop, Traditional Chinese Medicine reminds us that prevention is the ultimate medicine.

Here's some ways to protect your health this season:

1. KEEP YOUR FEET + ANKLES WARM 🧦
In TCM, your kidneys are the foundation of your body's vital energy (Qi) and immunity. They're closely connected to your feet through meridian pathways. Cold feet can weaken kidney function, leaving you vulnerable to illness. Think of warm socks as your first line of defense against fall and winter bugs.

2. PROTECT YOUR NECK WITH A SCARF 🧣
The back of your neck contains crucial acupuncture points called "Wind Gates" (Feng Fu and Feng Chi).
When exposed to cold wind, these points become entry ways for what TCM calls "pathogenic wind-cold" - leading to stiff necks, headaches, body aches, and that run-down feeling that precedes getting sick. A simple scarf creates a powerful protective barrier.

The TCM Philosophy: Your body is most vulnerable during seasonal transitions.

By dressing appropriately and keeping these key areas warm, you're not just staying comfortable - you're actively supporting your immune system and maintaining balance

Stay warm, stay well ✨

hello A U T U M N 🍁

It is officially the first day of fall - the air is crisp + the leaves are starting to change colors. πŸ‚πŸ

In TCM, this is the season to draw inwards, slow down, reflect + let go of what does not serve you.

Days are getting shorter, which means take the necessary time you need to rest and recover.

Ensure you are taking care of your physical, mental and emotional heath.

Some tips to ease the transition into shorter days:
πŸ”ΈοΈ get regular acupuncture to boost your mood + nourish your immune system
πŸ”ΈοΈ vitamin D supplements
πŸ”ΈοΈ 10,000 lux light exposure (Happy Light season)
πŸ”ΈοΈ get outside for a walk in the sunshine

EAR SEEDS -- Tiny seeds, big wellness! ✨

These little ear seeds are working their auricular therapy magic - a practice that's been used for many years to support health and wellness.

What makes this so fascinating?

Your ear is like a microsystem of your entire body! When we apply gentle acupressure to specific points, we can actually influence your vagus nerve - that incredible "superhighway" that connects your brain to major organs throughout your body. 🧠

The vagus nerve is your body's main relaxation pathway, controlling your "rest and digest" response.

By stimulating these ear points, we can help activate parasympathetic nervous system (rest +digest) function to aid in reducing stress, improving sleep, supporting digestion, and promoting that deep sense of calm.

Think of it as hitting your internal reset button.πŸ”„

Aftercare Tips:
β€’Keep seeds dry - avoid getting them soaking wet
β€’ Gently massage them 2-3x daily for 30-60 seconds
β€’ They can stay on for 3-5 days
β€’ Remove if any irritation occurs
β€’ Clean the area gently when removing

Sometimes, the smallest changes make the biggest difference in finding balance and wellness πŸ’š
