The conversations that matter most often begin with the simplest words.

Join us on Friday, June 19, 2026, from 10:00–11:00 AM EST for a special virtual workshop with Dr. Haesun Moon, communication scientist, coach, educator, and author of Coaching A to Z.

In this engaging presentation, Dr. Moon will share insights from her extensive research on moving from conversational mystery to mastery. Designed for hospice volunteers, staff, and caregivers, this session will explore how coaching skills and intentional language can help the people you support feel safe, seen, and heard as they share meaningful moments and life stories.

Our second timelapse captures the incredible progress being made as our Hospice continues to take shape — a space built to provide compassionate care, comfort, and support for individuals and families in our community. Thank you EBC, BTY, Arcadis and the sub-trades for keeping this vital project on time and budget.

Speaking of budget, we want to open the Hospice Centre mortgage-free, and we need the communities help to make that a reality. Every donation brings us closer to welcoming families into a place of peace, dignity, and care.

Thank you to the Women at the First United Church in Mississauga for inviting us in to your community to share about hospice palliative care and support for individuals and families navigating life-limiting illness and grief.

Insights on who we are, how long we have served, how to get involved and how we are completing the continuum of care with the building of the first dedicated Hospice Centre to serve Mississauga made for a fun hour of engaging conversation followed by a lovely and tasty mixer.

Thank you to our volunteers, Dale, who led the presentation, Elizabeth and Pam for audience support, and Peggy for the invitation. Of course shout out to Emily, the groups AV lead who made it so easy to showcase the positive impact of Hospice Mississauga through our images and videos.

Most people did not know about Hospice and you may be the same. Many are surprised that care is provided at no-charge, that we support children and youth, and that Hospice is all about helping people live every moment to its fullest.

Angus Reid just shared some updated survey data about palliative care.
It reaffirmed what we know to be true on the ground and through our own research.

Too many families miss the moments that matter—because access to palliative care happens too late, or not at all.
Too many caregivers are burnt out, providing more than 145 hours of care a week to loved ones living with a life-limiting illness.

But donors are changing that for Mississaugans.

Together, we’re building a new Hospice Palliative Care Centre—and a first-of-its-kind Palliative Care Hub—to connect people earlier to the care, comfort, and support they deserve. This will help us complete the continuum of care.

It is projected that we need 60 specialized hospice beds in Mississauga, these first 12 specialized care suites and enhanced community program spaces are the first step. Because of caring individuals, community groups, foundations and companies, there will be more moments.

Moments of peace, connection and dignity.

WOW… what a day! Walk for Hospice was filled with incredible energy, community spirit, and so much heart. Together we raised over $129,000, and under $11,000 in expenses thanks to caring donors and gifts in kind. Amazing what 350 passionate hospice champions can achieve!
