Here's something I wish more people in the wellness space would just say out loud:
Your metabolism isn't broken. It's responding.

Responding to stress you've been carrying for years.
Responding to sleep that hasn't been right in a long time.
Responding to blood sugar swings nobody ever taught you to watch for.
Responding to what you eat, drink and breathe... it's just "responding"...

So the goal was never to fight your body into submission.
The goal is to support it and to give it what it's actually been asking for this whole time. FUEL.
That one shift in thinking changes everything.

She (or he!?) might be waiting for exactly this.

The fatigue. The brain fog. The weight that won't shift no matter what you do. ARGH!!!!
I thought I was just tired. It turned out my body was trying to tell me something. Very loudly and it took me some time to listen...
I'm a Culinary Nutrition Expert and Wellness Coach and even I had to learn this the hard way.
That's exactly why I created what I did. So you don't have to start from scratch the way I did.
I put together a free guide to help you start exactly there. Grab it here 🌿https://julie-gorman-wellness-coach.kit.com/f4bac474a0

For years I thought I needed more willpower. Well....
What I actually needed was a better understanding of what was happening inside my body.
Weight changes in midlife aren't always about eating less and moving more.
Sometimes it's about rebuilding the foundations. Going back to the basics...
Blood sugar. Stress. Sleep. Nourishment.
That's where everything changed for me.

I'm not here because I've got it all figured out. Not even close!
I'm 51. I'm in the middle of midlife, navigating it in real time, right alongside you. And somewhere along the way, I built something I wish someone had handed me at 40.
There's no perfection here. No before-and-after photos. Just a woman doing the work, learning as she goes, and sharing it honestly with you.
So if you're new here ...welcome! I'm really glad you found your way to this page.
I put together a free guide for exactly this stage of life. Grab it here 🌿 https://julie-gorman-wellness-coach.kit.com/f4bac474a0

If you've ever felt like you're doing everything right and still not seeing the results you expected... I want you to read this one all the way through.

I need you to hear this, because I don't think you're hearing it enough:
The women I work with aren't lazy. They're trying. Like really trying.
They're buying the healthy food. Drinking the water. Making time for the walks, even when life is full.
And yet so many of them still feel stuck ?? wondering why none of it seems to be working the way they hoped. WHY?
Here's what I've learned after years of doing this work: it's not that they're doing it wrong. It's that there are a few foundational pieces missing, small pieces nobody ever taught them to look for.
Once you understand the why behind how you're feeling, everything else starts to make a lot more sense.
💬 If this is hitting close to home, tell me in the comments --- I read every single one, and I'd love to know where you're at.

For years I chased symptoms too. It seemed like the thing to do???

Tired? Add a supplement.
Can't sleep? Add another one.
Still not feeling like myself? Try the next thing. And REPEAT!?

None of it was wrong, exactly. It just wasn't the foundation.
What actually changed things for me wasn't adding more, it was going back to the basics that build health in the first place. Food as the starting point, not the afterthought.
I put together a free guide that walks through exactly where to start if you're in that same spot >>feeling like you're doing a hundred things and still not sure any of it is working.
It won't fix everything overnight. But it might be the first thing that finally makes sense. It made me feel, think and show up as a better version of myself.

Picture this: You're standing in the grocery aisle, staring at two packages of what looks like the same thing.

One says "high protein" on the front. The other says "heart healthy." Sometimes you will see my "eyes roll".

You flip them over. The ingredient lists might as well be written in another language. You're tired. You just want to feed yourself something that actually supports your body right now.

Here's what I wish someone had told me years ago:

The front of the package is marketing. The back is the truth.

When you're navigating perimenopause or menopause, your body needs real support; not clever labels. What to look for:

→ Protein grams that actually match the serving size (not the "if you eat 3 servings" math)
→ Ingredients you can pronounce and picture
→ Added sugars hiding under 47 different names
→ Oils that support your hormones vs. ones that don't

This isn't about perfection. It's about making food decisions feel less overwhelming because your energy is precious and grocery shopping shouldn't drain it. It really isn't that complicated I promise.

Your body isn't broken. It's asking for support. And learning to read a label? That's one small, doable step toward giving it what it needs. This is a trust me moment.

Save this for your next grocery run 🛒2026-05-22T01:19:15695fe9fa457dae6a34edfb96

Two years ago, I couldn't get through 3pm without crashing.

Today? Steady energy from morning to night.

The difference wasn't a new supplement. It wasn't cutting carbs. It wasn't pushing harder at the gym.

It was finally understanding that my body wasn't betraying me, it was simply communicating.

Every symptom I was fighting? The weight that wouldn't budge. The brain fog. The exhaustion that sleep didn't fix.

Those weren't failures. They were signals. BIG ones!

Menopause isn't a diagnosis to manage. It's a metabolic transition that requires a completely different foundation than what worked in your 20s and 30s. YES things have changed!

When I stopped chasing symptom relief and started building the foundation, things like protein-first meals, blood sugar balance, nervous system support then everything shifted.

Not overnight. But sustainably. My kinda shift.

This is what we talk about in my FREE Recipe Guide. We stop treating symptoms in isolation and start giving your body what it's actually asking for. Fuel. Food. Whole Foods. Real Foods.

There's something most women don't realize about their kitchen...

It's not about having the perfect ingredients or spending hours meal prepping on Sundays.

It's about knowing what to reach for when you're standing in front of the fridge at 5pm, exhausted, and your brain is screaming for something fast.

Here's what I've learned after years of helping women navigate midlife: the kitchen isn't the problem. The lack of a simple framework is.

When you know your protein-first priorities, when you understand how to balance blood sugar without obsessing, when grocery shopping becomes second nature instead of overwhelming this is when everything shifts.

This isn't about restriction. It's about removing the mental load of food decisions so you can actually nourish yourself without the drama.

Your body isn't asking for another diet. It's asking for support and structure.

Comment RECIPES and I'll walk you through how to build your own foundation-first approach to food no tracking, no extremes, no willpower required. This is my FREE GUIDE to getting started ....

There's something most women over 40 don't know about their kitchen… and it's costing them their energy, their sleep, and their ability to feel like themselves again.

Here's the thing: your kitchen isn't just where food happens. It's where your metabolic health either gets supported or slowly unravels.

And no, I'm not talking about willpower. I'm not talking about eating less or trying harder.

I'm talking about understanding that your body has changed, and the way you nourish it needs to change too.

This is where Meet Me in the Kitchen comes in.

It's about:
→ Putting protein first (because your hormones are literally asking for it)
→ Blood sugar balance that stops the 3pm crash and the midnight wake-ups
→ Meal planning that removes the mental load, not adds to it
→ Understanding that healthy fats are your metabolic friend, not the enemy

This isn't about restriction. It's about building foundations that actually work for your body right now.

Your body isn't broken. It's communicating. And when you learn to listen and respond everything shifts.

Comment RESET and I'll walk you through how to start with the foundations that matter most. 💛
