SSAIC exists to contend with sexualized violence and its effects upon individuals and the community.

SSAIC exists to contend with sexual violence and its effects upon individuals and the community. We aspire to a society where all may achieve their full potential free from sexualized violence in any form. We will focus our efforts in support of this mission by:

- Promoting the healing and empowerment of persons who have experienced sexualized violence
Increasing community awareness of sexualized

violence and its effects
- Changing societal attitudes that perpetuate sexualized violence
- Strengthening collaboration among individuals and organizations working towards the elimination of sexualized violence
- Contributing to the development of social, legal and educational policies relating to the elimination of sexualized violence.

• Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of child sexual abuse and an interest in working with children are considered assets.
• Understanding of anti-oppressive, feminist, trauma-informed, and survivor-centred practices.

About the role:
This position supports the delivery and ongoing development of our youth abuse prevention programs, as well as other sexualized violence awareness presentations. The role also involves community outreach and building knowledge of local resources to support individuals and communities.

This opportunity is ideal for recent graduates who are passionate about making a difference in the non-profit sector, as well as individuals with post-secondary education in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.

SSAIC's 2025-26 Annual Report is now available!

Another year of support, growth, and healing.

During the 2025-26 fiscal year, SSAIC supported 727 clients, including survivors as well as their loved ones, guardians, and partners seeking support for themselves.

We provided 2,099 units of service through counselling sessions and support calls. We are proud to have held space for 516 new clients, continued supporting 150 ongoing clients, and reconnected with 61 clients who returned to access our services.

A total of 48 clients participated in our group therapy programs, which consisted of a Women's Group, the Redefining Intimacy group (in partnership with Family Service Saskatoon), Trauma-Informed Yoga, and a sound bath workshop. Overall, we provided 28 group sessions.

With all that said, a quick shoutout to our funders and supporters! Thanks to you, SSAIC is able to provide these services to survivors of sexualized violence and their loved ones. For as long as we are needed, we're happy to be here.

In Canada, 1/5 female victims of human trafficking are minors under 18.

Human trafficking remains a pervasive global threat, fueled by organized crime and driven by profit.

Each year, more victims are trafficked, often enduring longer distances, increased violence, and for extended periods of time.

These are peoples loved ones, family, friends, and children that are being coerced and manipulated into exploitation.

To effectively fight human trafficking, efforts are both needed at national and international levels. States must prioritize protection, bolster legislation, improve law enforcement, and allocate more resources to combat trafficking.

SSAIC strongly believes in the fight against human trafficking. If you or anyone you know are looking for free counselling and support, you know where to find us.

Well, that was fun!😁

This month, we wrapped up the pilot of our very first I'm the Boss of Me™ Summer Camp, and what a success it was!🌟

The camp was our way of putting a fun summer twist on what kiddos used to experience in school. I'm the Boss of Me™ is typically taught as a unit, with each lesson focusing on topics such as healthy relationships, internet safety, empathy, boundaries, and identifying safe adults. Through the camp, we were able to transform each lesson into fun-sized activities, combining crafts, games, and outdoor time to keep learning engaging, interactive, and exciting!

Of course, our beloved puppet friends made a few special appearances throughout the week, with the grand finale being a live performance of the I'm the Boss of Me™ puppet show. Through the show, campers learned important messages about body safety, that it is never okay for an adult to hurt a child, that it's important to keep telling a safe adult until someone helps, and that abuse is never, ever the child's fault.

💛This week wouldn't have been possible without the support and participation of our campers and their caregivers. We are so grateful to the children who participated, and to their parents and caregivers for trusting us with this exciting new pilot. Every camper brought their own unique curiosity, kindness, and enthusiasm, making the week one to remember.

We hope to see many of our campers again next year! In the meantime, stay tuned this fall as our I'm the Boss of Me™ and No Is a Full Sentence™ community sessions return. We look forward to welcoming more children, youth, and families for another season of learning, growth, and empowerment.

The justice system shouldn't be another source of trauma.🙅‍♀️

Every survivor deserves to be treated with dignity, respect, and compassion throughout the reporting process.

A recent national investigation into survivors' experiences within Canada's criminal justice system highlights the need for meaningful reforms that reduces harm and improves access to justice.

At SSAIC, we believe every survivor deserves a justice system that is survivor-centered, trauma-informed, and accessible. We will continue to advocate for meaningful reforms that reduce harm, remove barriers, and ensure survivors are met with compassion throughout every step of their healing.

Fun fact: our Online Learning Workshop Series was an idea born during the pandemic, and now it's one of our regular public education programs!

Each season, we bring a new collection of presentations to our community at large, anyone who wants to learn is welcome to attend these free sessions!

Part of SSAIC's mission is to prevent sexualized violence in anyway possible, and research shows us that one of the most effective ways to do so is through education.

We record our OLWS for you to watch later, or share with a friend / coworker / family member, and offer them at no charge to remove as many barriers as possible.

July 14th is International Non-Binary Peoples day!

A day to celebrate and acknowledge the authentic and diverse non-binary community! Special shoutout to our enby friends, colleagues, volunteers, survivors, and community members.

The date was appropriately chosen as it lands right in between International Women's Day and International Men's day. The day was first celebrated back in 2012 with the goal of raising awareness around issues faced by non-binary folks and encouraging visibility.
