Today is National Women’s Equality Day 💜

This day is a reminder of the ongoing work toward equity, recognition, and opportunity for women in all spaces including the workplace, education, healthcare, and beyond.

At Breland Counselling & Support, we’re proud to be an all-women team, working alongside individuals, children, youth, and families in our community. Our clinic is also owned by a woman, and that shapes the heart of how we show up in this work grounded in care, collaboration, and respect for lived experience.

We also recognize that women’s stories are not one story. They are diverse, complex, and shaped by many intersecting identities and experiences. Today is about honouring that breadth, while also acknowledging the continued work toward equity for all.

We’re grateful to do this work alongside one another, and alongside the people who trust us with their stories every day 💜

💜 Did you know?
If you’re hoping to meet with your counsellor at a specific time but don’t see an opening, you can add yourself to their waitlist through our JANE online booking system!

When a therapy participant cancels and a spot becomes available, JANE will automatically email and or text you so you can claim the newly opened appointment — no need to check the schedule over and over. 💜

This helps ensure you can access support within the timeframe that feels right for you, while keeping everything simple, organized, and in one place.

We’re committed to creating a participant-centered experience alongside you every step of the way.

Sometimes the smallest gestures mean the absolute most to us. 💜
Every time you trust us with your stories, share our content, like a post, follow our page, or refer someone to our community of care — it genuinely moves us.

And when you let us know if something feels off in your counselling space, that matters too. Those moments help us stay aligned with the participant-centered, relational practice we care so deeply about.

Your presence, your engagement, and your trust are never taken for granted. Thank you for being part of this community and walking alongside us. ✨

We’ve been listening.

Over the past while, we’ve had the opportunity to connect with more therapy participants in Swift Current and surrounding communities through virtual counselling support.

Recently, Kristin Reinhart had the opportunity to offer a few in-person counselling dates at our Saskatoon office and the response was incredible. Those appointments filled quickly, showing us that there is a strong desire for more accessible counselling options in the Swift Current area.

We’re exploring what’s next and how we can continue growing alongside this community.

Stay tuned… something new is coming. 💜

Coming back from vacation can feel a bit like hitting a reset button… but not always in the way we expect 💜

As routines pick back up and inboxes fill again, it’s common to feel a mix of re-entry stress, low motivation, or even a bit of overwhelm.

If you’re settling back into work after time away, here are a few gentle reminders:

✨ You don’t have to “catch up” all at once
✨ Ease back into your workload where possible
✨ Break tasks into smaller, manageable steps
✨ Protect small moments of pause in your day (even 5 minutes helps)
✨ Notice the pressure to “bounce back” and soften it where you can

Transitions take energy and coming back from rest is still a transition.

At Breland Counselling & Support, we recognize that workplace mental health matters not just during burnout, but in the everyday shifts that shape how we show up 💜

Be kind to yourself as you re-enter your routine. You don’t have to go from rest straight into full speed.

What’s the hardest part about coming back after time away?

✨ Every piece tells a story.

As we inch closer to celebrating one year in our Taylor Street location, we're taking some time to spotlight the people, businesses, and makers who helped bring this space to life.

From our Breland signage and window wrap, to our entrance rug, coffee mugs, wall art, and the many thoughtful details throughout the office so much of what makes this space feel welcoming was created by talented local vendors and artisans in our community.

Supporting local has always been important to us, and we're grateful to be surrounded by the creativity, craftsmanship, and care of so many incredible makers. Thank you to the people who helped transform a space into a place where therapy participants, counsellors, and community members can gather, connect, and feel at home. 💜

Summer holidays don’t always feel like a rest 💜

Here in Saskatchewan, we wait a long time for summer—and when it finally arrives, it’s easy to try and make the most of every single moment. Camping trips, sports schedules, lake days, road trips, BBQs, weddings, family gatherings… we pack it all in because we know winter is just around the corner again.

But sometimes, by the time September rolls around, instead of feeling refreshed—we feel tired.

If that’s been your experience, you’re not alone.

Burnout doesn’t only happen at work. It can also show up after a season that was “supposed” to feel like a break, but ended up being full, fast, and non-stop.

A few gentle reminders if you’re feeling this way:

✨ Rest isn’t something you have to earn after being “busy enough”
✨ It’s okay if your summer didn’t feel restful in the way you expected
✨ Your body and mind might still be asking for pause, even after the season changes
✨ Slowing down now is still possible

At Breland Counselling & Support, we see how easy it is to move through short summers at full speed—and we’re here to support you as you come back to yourself, at a pace that feels more sustainable 💜

How has your summer actually felt for you this year—restful, busy, or somewhere in between?

We're so excited to share that Breland Counselling & Consulting will be partnering with Empty Arms to facilitate our upcoming season of professionally led grief support groups. 🤍

Together, we're creating spaces where families can feel seen, supported, and understood by both a compassionate community and experienced local therapists.

Beginning this season, we'll be offering:
✨ Two group sessions each month
🏡 One in-person session in Saskatoon
💻 One virtual session for families across Saskatchewan and beyond

Thanks to the Dakota Dunes Community Development Corporation, these groups are completely free and are open to anyone who has experienced pregnancy, infant, or child loss. You do not need to have previously received support from Empty Arms to attend.

Whether your loss was recent or many years ago, you are welcome here.

Registration is now open through the link in our bio. We look forward to walking alongside you this season. 💛
