We hope everyone had a lovely time at the Pride events this weekend! We're so glad to see lots of local/provincial groups out in support.

You can count on LDANL being there for the parade next year—with bells on!

We’re excited to be taking part in today’s St. John’s Pride Parade! ❤️🧡💚💙💜💛

Join the NLTA as we celebrate inclusion, diversity and the strength of our communities. Whether you’re marching with us or cheering from the sidelines, we’d love to see you there! Look for the NLTA group (zone A3!) and come celebrate with us!

Be part of the 1st joint conference between the Canadian Stuttering Association + Newfoundland and Labrador Stuttering Association for the At Home with Stuttering Conference.

The Conference theme ‘At Home with Stuttering’ invites us to reflect on what it means to feel truly “at home,” not only in a place but within ourselves.

At Home with Stuttering speaks to acceptance and the freedom to speak without fear or censorship. It is about embracing stuttering as part of who you are, rather than something to hide. It is about creating space where every voice belongs.

The conference is a place of connection, learning, and celebration. It’s an experience that reminds us that we are not alone. It will take place on the weekend of August 21-23 at the Delta Hotel in St. John’s.

Today is Nunavut Day.

On July 9, 1993, the Parliament of Canada passed the Nunavut Act, establishing the territory of Nunavut and providing the territory to the Inuit for self-government.

LDANL wishes the Inuit people of Nunavut a happy day of celebration!

Digital literacy is vital in this day and age to keep us safe, though especially for kids, youths, and vulnerable people.

Be aware and keep yourself safe online!
Check out this post from Thrive. The link they've included is a great help for kids, youths, parents, and guardians.

Knowledge is power!

We are pleased to share that CASEY’s "What is Online Sexual Exploitation?" Booklet has been fully updated and is now available on our website.

This resource is designed to break down complex digital safety topics, offer practical insights, and provide guidance for youth, parents, caregivers, and service providers navigating today's online world.

Over the past few years in St. John's alone, LDANL has delivered nearly 3,000 hours of Reading tutoring to 81 adult learners, and nearly 1,500 hours of Math tutoring to 51 adult learners. Since only March 2025, LDANL has delivered over 500 hours of Conversational Skills tutoring to 41 adult Newcomer learners.

The Adult Literacy Support Project has helped LDANL reach many vulnerable adults. It has allowed the organisation to offer free programs and services vital to those adults' success in school, in the workplace, and in everyday life.

If you want to know more about the Adult Literacy Support Project and what LDANL offers for adults, reach out to our Projects Coordinator Chris Newell ([email protected]).
