Today is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

We acknowledge the children who never returned home from residential schools, the survivors who carry it still, and the families and communities living with that loss.

Our clinics sit on the traditional territories of the Coast Salish peoples. Recognising that is a starting point, not a conclusion.

Today we encourage everyone to listen, read, and learn. The National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation and the Indian Residential Schools Crisis Line at 1 866 925 4419 are both available.

Rain season starts now, and your stride changes whether you notice or not.

On wet ground you shorten your steps, brace through the ankle and land flatter to stay stable. Do that for a few weeks and it shows up as achilles tightness, shin soreness, or an ankle that rolls on a curb you have run past a hundred times.

Four things that help:

Swap worn shoes now, not in January. Tread depth is grip. Take the corners and painted lines wide, they are the slick spots. Add calf and ankle work twice a week so the bracing has something to brace with. If something is already niggling, get it looked at before the dark months add mileage to it.

First day of fall, and your body clocks it before your calendar does.

Cooler mornings mean tissue takes longer to warm up. Darker evenings mean less movement overall. Both show up as stiffness, niggles, and the sudden reappearance of last year's injury.

Four things worth doing this week:

Add three to five minutes to your warm up. Layer up for outdoor training so you stay loose between sets. Do not quit the routine that worked all summer, adapt it. Book that assessment you have been putting off since July.

Same week appointments across all our BC clinics. Link in bio.
