Summer can feel like an excuse to let your routines slip away.

I'm not fully against that.

Go take in those longer days, outdoor concerts, vacations, or whatever it is you enjoy.

💛 If this is you (or your daughter), please read this.

Too many women with irregular periods are still being told:
“It’s common.”
“It’s only a concern if you want to get pregnant.”

And honestly? That answer just doesn’t sit right with me.

Irregular cycles can have many underlying causes — some of which can impact long-term health, energy, metabolism, mood, and yes, fertility.

With PMOS (previously PCOS) being discussed so much right now online, I think this is an important reminder:
✨ Irregular periods deserve a proper evaluation.

PMOS is only one possible cause. Thyroid issues, insulin resistance, stress, under-fueling, perimenopause, and other hormonal concerns can also play a role.

And while oral contraceptives absolutely have their place, creating a regular bleed doesn’t necessarily mean we’ve addressed why the cycle became irregular in the first place.

🌿 Every woman deserves to feel heard, informed, and properly assessed — not dismissed.

😴 Blood sugar imbalances are one of the most overlooked contributors to sleep issues.

One pattern I commonly see in practice is women waking up in the middle of the night — often around 2–4 AM — and struggling to fall back asleep for an hour or more, seemingly for no clear reason.

In some cases, this can be related to a drop in blood sugar during the night. Your body then has to work to bring those levels back up, which can trigger a stress response and leave you wide awake.

We often assume sleep issues are only related to stress or hot flashes, but blood sugar regulation can play a major role — and these factors often influence one another.

✨ This is why screening for insulin resistance and looking at the full picture can be so important.

I know someone needs to hear this:

Just because you didn’t hear back after your blood work… doesn’t automatically mean everything was “good.”

I always encourage patients to review their results with a healthcare provider. This is your opportunity to ask questions, better understand your health, and advocate for yourself.

In the last week alone, I’ve seen patients who weren’t aware they were:
✨ Borderline deficient in vitamin B12, iron, or vitamin D
✨ At risk for diabetes based on their blood sugar levels
✨ Showing hormone levels suggestive of menopause

And honestly? This happens more often than you’d think.

💛 Not only have I been hearing more women say their “give-a-damn meter” is empty…

…it’s practically become a movement online. (If you haven’t come across the “We Do Not Care Club,” go look it up for a good laugh 😆).

But underneath the humour is a very real issue.

Most women enter perimenopause while still juggling:
✨ Parenting
✨ Full-time careers
✨ Mental load and caregiving
✨ Major hormonal shifts

That’s a lot for one nervous system to carry.

These are all perceived by the body as stressors, which can leave you feeling drained, overwhelmed, and unlike yourself.

The good news? This doesn’t mean you’re stuck feeling this way.

🌿 In fact, this can be a powerful opportunity to start making small, realistic changes that support both your mental and physical health.

So many women feel stuck in loops like:
“I don’t have time to exercise.”
“I need my evenings to relax.”
“I’ve tried to lose weight… my body just isn’t working.”

It’s so easy to get caught in these patterns — and to believe them.

But when we slow down and talk things through, something shifts.
We start to find small, realistic solutions that actually fit your life:

This phase of life can feel like a rollercoaster — unpredictable, overwhelming, and at times completely out of your control.

But here’s the truth:
