ADHD can look like forgetting things, zoning out, interrupting, hyperfocusing, procrastinating, or feeling mentally exhausted from trying to keep up with everything at once.

A lot of people with ADHD grow up thinking they are lazy, careless, “too much,” or not trying hard enough. In reality, many are working twice as hard just to stay organized, focused, and regulated.

Fight or flight is your brain’s way of trying to keep you safe, even when the “danger” is an unread email, a difficult conversation, or constant stress.

Sometimes people judge themselves for feeling anxious, overwhelmed, reactive, or exhausted without realizing their body has been stuck in survival mode for too long.

One of the hardest parts about feeling “not good enough” is how convincing it sounds in your own head.

You can get complimented ten times and still replay the one awkward moment from three days ago. You can achieve something important and immediately minimize it, move the goalpost, or tell yourself it was luck.

Over time, your brain starts building a case against you without you even realizing it.

That does not mean the thought is true. It means your mind got very good at searching for evidence that supports an old belief.

Therapy can help you notice the filter, challenge it, and slowly create a different relationship with yourself.

It was not built to carry every message, every task, every decision, every worry, every notification, and every emotional demand without pause.

When there is no downtime, your brain does not just get tired. It starts protecting itself. You may notice brain fog, irritability, zoning out, anxiety, numbness, or a shorter fuse than usual.

That is not a character flaw. It is a signal.

Rest is not the reward after you have done enough. It is part of how your brain stays well enough to keep going.

Most people are carrying more than others realize.

From the outside, life can look completely fine while internally you are exhausted, anxious, overwhelmed, disconnected, or constantly trying to keep everything together.

Therapy is not about having someone “fix” you. It is about having a space where you can speak honestly, understand yourself better, and get support that actually applies to your real life and relationships.

You do not need to wait until things fall apart to ask for help.

If you keep finding yourself drawn to people who are unavailable, it is not random.

A lot of the time, it comes from patterns you learned early on about what connection feels like. Your brain tends to move toward what feels familiar, even when it is not what you actually need.

That can look like chasing, overthinking, or trying to earn closeness that never fully shows up.

The pattern can change, but it starts with understanding it.

I’m truly honoured to be recognized by The Business Tycoon Magazine as one of The Most Influential Business Leaders to Watch in 2026.

When I started Get Reconnected Psychotherapy & Counselling Services, the goal was simple, to create a space where people feel heard, supported, and understood, especially during some of the hardest moments of their lives.

Whether it is infertility, reproductive trauma, relationship struggles, anxiety, or major life transitions, this work has always been about helping people reconnect with themselves and move forward with support.

This recognition means a lot because it reflects not just my work, but the trust my clients place in me every day.
