This patient underwent a breast lift but also had some fullness along the side of her chest, commonly referred to as a “bra roll.”

To address this area, she chose an excision to remove the excess skin and tissue. While an excision does result in a scar, she was very happy with the appearance of her breasts and the scar as she healed. 🤍

The best approach for fullness along the chest or bra area depends on the patient’s anatomy, the amount of excess tissue, and their individual goals. In some cases, liposuction may be appropriate, while in others, excision may provide a more complete correction.

BREAST AUGMENTATION VS LIFT✨

Dr. Levine explains that a breast lift and a breast augmentation serve two very different purposes—and it often comes down to the position of the ni**le.

A breast lift (mastopexy) raises and reshapes sagging breasts by repositioning the ni**le and tightening breast tissue. It addresses drooping but does not significantly increase breast volume.

A breast augmentation increases the size and fullness of the breasts, enhancing shape and projection, but it does not correct ni**le position or sagging.
