Tonight, our 20 Spadina office is lighting up in blue to celebrate and highlight the contributions of people with disabilities in the workplace and across our communities. 💙💜

At Community Living Toronto, we recognize the importance of employment opportunities for people with disabilities and the impact they can have on building independence, confidence and belonging. Through platforms like MyJobMatch.ca, we help connect people looking for employment with employers and create pathways to meaningful work.

✨ A special congratulations to Tahsin, who was named Employee of the Month at The Social Brew, Café & Market Place! We’re proud to celebrate this achievement and the contributions of employees with disabilities in our community.

🎙️Season 4 Episode 10 is LIVE!

In this episode of Community Chats, Karen Bell, Executive Director, Microboards Ontario joins Brad Saunders, CEO of Community Living Toronto, for a conversation about Microboards, supported decision-making, and creating more opportunities for people with intellectual disabilities to live the lives they choose.

Together, they explore how Microboards are emerging as another way for people with intellectual disabilities and their families to shape the supports they need, with a focus on relationships, choice and inclusion. Karen shares how the organization has been piloting a program to help families build these networks, from supporting a person to make decisions about their own life to planning for the future and organizing the supports they need. They also discuss how Microboards are developing in Ontario and the potential to expand these support options.

💬 The conversation also turns to the hopes and concerns families carry as they think about the future. Karen reflects on how a group of trusted people can help someone pursue new opportunities while giving families greater confidence. At its heart, the conversation is about keeping the person at the centre of their own life with the relationships and support to help make their choices possible.
