Saturday afternoon at Deeside we decided because the sun has been shining most of the week we all deserved an ice cream. Aye Scream - North East Scotland came along with his ice cream trailer with loads of different varieties of ice creams, sauces and toppings. All the residents and staff were treated to a cone or a tub of ice cream. As you can tell by all the smiling face we enjoyed every mouthful.

Friday at Deeside during happy hour we announced the winner of our first employee of the month. There was an incredible amount of votes put in for the staff and everyone who received a vote was delighted. The comments for the votes showed how good a job the staff here at Deeside do. The winner for day staff was Kate with 5 votes and Migan from night staff receiving 2 votes. They were nominated for always being happy, always willing to go the extra mile, dedicated and caring. We could not agree more and they are well deserving winners. Congratulations to you both and to all the runners up.

Thursday afternoon at Deeside we celebrated a very special birthday, one of our lovely chefs Lorna who has worked at Deeside for many years was gifted a card, flowers and a bottle of fizz. Lorna is loved by everyone at Deeside and is very rarely seen without a smile on her face. Lorna is much more than a chef though she has the biggest heart and nothing is ever to much bother for her. Happy Birthday once again Lorna we all hope you have had a fabulous day.

Wednesday afternoon we had the pleasure of welcoming in Eric Bell to Deeside. He blew us all away with his accordion playing. Everyone was tapping their feet along and dancing to the music. The residents comments were

A lovely Friday has been had by all at Deeside. This morning we did some beach paintings and discussed times spent at the beach as youngsters and with our families. This afternoon we all came together for happy hour, we all enjoyed a drink, a catch up with friends and a sing song and dance.

Wednesday morning at Deeside made our own pizza, everyone was chatting about their favourite toppings and the age old question came up about whether pineapple belongs on pizza. It was a fabulous and we enjoyed eating the pizzas later in the day. In the afternoon we came together for some active games. This brought about teamwork as me mastered moving hoops along obstacles to one another then we finished it off with a game of 10 pin bowling. A great day was had by all.

Wednesday at Deeside it was our weekly board games. Everyone came together and enjoyed a game of cards, dominoes and scrabble. It has been described at our weekly activities forum as a residents highlight of the week as she gets to join friends in a bit of friendly competition.
