Our baking club met again this morning to make vanilla biscuits, decorated inspired by fireworks. We have it on good authority the biscuits tasted as good as they looked.

We have big plans for baking club this autumn/winter season with some keen bakers in our midst.

Happy 1st November everyone! We had our Halloween party on Friday afternoon, we had blood bag cocktails and mocktails, Halloween snacks, some Halloween music bingo and a game of pass the spider which saw staff running around. We had a wonderful afternoon spending time together. Our craft creations and carved pumpkins decorated the tables which was lovely to see our hard work come together 🩷

Good morning everyone🩷 we started our Halloween celebrations off with a visit from the critter keeper yesterday. He brought with him a snake, a tarantula, cockroach, giant snail, bearded dragon and even a bunny. Residents were extremely brave and loved every second of it- staff? Not so much with some running away at the sight of the spider. We were totally engrossed in learning about the critters.

We had our Halloween party in the afternoon, stay tuned for some wonderful costumes and a lot of fun.

Another busy day at Dee View, we started the day with our sign language club, everyone is doing extremely well and thoroughly enjoying our sign language sessions- over lunch some ladies decided to crack open a bottle of w**e and celebrate their hard work. We enjoyed running into Lulu the dog and getting cuddles from her before we spent the afternoon pampering ourselves for the Halloween party tomorrow.

Today we had a cartoon themed memory lane to celebrate world animation day, we had a Halloween cinema in the afternoon watching Hocus Pocus so decided a PJ day was the only way forward. We each thought of our favourite cartoon or animated programme or film from when we were young and watched the opening titles to each of them.

We also celebrated a very special ladies birthday: happy birthday Kathleen🩵

We’ve been partaking in all things spooky today on the run up to Halloween. In the morning we made origami ghosts and skulls, Halloween centre pieces and decorated pumpkin biscuits. In the afternoon we started to carve our pumpkins to display all around the building. Some opted to paint them instead but we think they look spooktacular 🎃

Yesterday was a busy day, we had Jacqui our hairdresser in for her monthly visit, we always have a blast with her and feel a million dollars after having our hair done, we also enjoyed a visit from Sonia and Lulu- we could get used to having dogs at the hairdresser.

In the afternoon we did our latest round of hot or not? Rating outfits from the pride of Britain awards. There were some definite favourites and some not so popular outfits.

We had the most wonderful time on Saturday with Music 4 U. We were treated to an afternoon of joy in the form of music. We danced, sang along and had a great time with our friends. Thank you so much to our friends at Aberdeen South Church of Scotland for your friendship.

Feel Good Fridays here at Dee View👯‍♂️🩷 we started the day with a Halloween themed movement to music, we danced to songs such as ghostbusters, thriller, time warp, highway to hell with residents leading the session. In the afternoon we had a karaoke marathon, we sang some Dr Hook, greatest showman, Taylor Swift, doris day and more.
