When you visit us you will also be able to browse our range of men's, women's and kids glasses and sunglasses. Our experienced audiologist is here for all your hearing health needs, including Free hearing test, device fitting and aftercare and earwax removal. Douglas Dickie Opticians was founded in 1988 by optometrist Douglas Dickie and is situated in Aberdeen's West End. Duncan and Todd acquired

the practice in 2000 and Mr Dickie continued to practice optometry until he retired in 2003. To date, there are still 4 members of the original Douglas Dickie team employed at the practice.

Watching the solar eclipse tonight? Its important to do so safely.

Make sure you know the do’s and don’ts.
✅ DO use proper certified eclipse glasses (we don't sell these) designed for solar viewing.
✅ DO use a safe indirect viewing method, such as a pinhole projector.
✅ DO make sure children are supervised when watching the eclipse.

❌ DON’T look directly at the sun even for a few seconds.
❌ DON’T use normal sunglasses. They do not provide enough protection for eclipse viewing.
❌ DON’T look through cameras, binoculars or telescopes unless they have the correct specialist solar filter.

Solar retinal damage can be permanent, so always put eye safety first.

Enjoy the eclipse safely protect your eyes so you can enjoy every view after it.
