Too many lives are being lost to su***de. We cannot afford silence, and we cannot accept inaction.

Start the conversation today. Check in on a friend, family member, colleague or neighbour. Listen without judgement and create space to talk openly about mental health and su***de.

If you or someone you know is struggling, signposting to crisis services and support is available through our Help in a Mental Health Crisis page: https://www.mindwisenv.org/info-support/help-in-a-crisis/

This ***dePreventionDay, we are also calling on political leaders to step up. Su***de prevention requires more than awareness campaigns. It requires urgent action to tackle deprivation and inequality, invest in mental health services, strengthen community support, and fully deliver Protect Life 2.

Every conversation matters. Every action counts. Every life is worth fighting for.

Celebrating 25 years of Independent Custody Visitors!

On 21 August, NIAAS Scheme Manager Stanley Booth and Scheme Coordinator Carla Hall attended the Northern Ireland Policing Board Volunteer Recognition and Training Event at the Dunsilly Hotel, Antrim.

Stanley delivered an interactive presentation on the support NIAAS provides to detained persons in police custody, while attendees also heard about new initiatives to support neurodiverse individuals in custody settings.

A valuable opportunity to recognise the important work of Independent Custody Visitors and strengthen partnership working across the justice sector.
