In Loving Memory of Maureen Richards
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Maureen Richards, aged 84 years, on 25th June 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Maureen was the beloved wife and soulmate of Rick, with whom she shared 63 wonderful years of marriage. She was a devoted and supportive mum to Patricia, Michele, Susan and Catherine, a dear sister to Pat, a treasured Nana to her 13 grandchildren, and a much-loved Nana G to her ever-growing family of 25 great-grandchildren.
She never sought the spotlight, finding her greatest happiness in caring for those she loved. She enjoyed knitting and sewing, whilst her four girls were younger, often making beautiful clothes for them. In her younger years she was never one to swear, but as time went on, her language became a little more colourful—a change that never failed to make her family smile.
Affectionately known as "Our Queen," Maureen's kindness, quiet strength and unconditional love were the foundation of her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, but the memories she created and the love she shared will remain in our hearts forever.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday 14th July at St Anthony's Church, Clayton, at 12:00 noon, followed by committal at Shay Grange Crematorium at 1:30 pm.
Family flowers only, please. Donations in Maureen's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Society and the Stroke Association. A donation box will be available as you leave the chapel.
"Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure. You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure."
