🐦💚 A Wonderful Monthly Visit from Our Feathered Friends! 💚🐦

Today at Kestrel Grove, we were delighted to welcome Performing Pets, who brought along some very special visitors for their monthly visit — a gorgeous pair of colourful budgies! 🦜✨

Our residents and staff were absolutely in awe as the budgies chirped, fluttered and showed off their wonderful personalities. Their visit brought so many smiles, laughter and lovely conversations throughout the home. 🌈😊

These regular visits are a fantastic opportunity for our residents to enjoy the benefits of animal companionship. 🥰 Spending time with birds can encourage conversation and reminiscence, provide gentle sensory stimulation, lift mood, reduce feelings of loneliness and create meaningful moments of connection. 💕🐦

It was heartwarming to see residents engaged, curious and smiling as they enjoyed the company of our feathered friends. 🌿💚 We’re already looking forward to welcoming Performing Pets and their wonderful birds back to Kestrel Grove next month! 🐦🌟

✨ A lovely day out for one of our wonderful residents! 🌸💚

At Kestrel Grove Home, we always strive to make every day meaningful. Today, one of our residents requested a trip out, so we headed to our local garden centre for a relaxing afternoon. 🌼🌿

We enjoyed a delicious lunch together ☕🥪, browsed the beautiful plants, flowers, and gifts 🌺🛍️, and picked up a few special treats along the way. It was a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the fresh air, reminisce, chat, and create more happy memories together. 😊💖

💛🌟 Friends Day Celebration! 🌟💛

Today, our wonderful staff and residents came together to celebrate Friends Day, and it was filled with smiles, laughter, and heartfelt moments. 🤝💕

Friendship bands were lovingly exchanged, symbolising the special bonds we share every day. 🌈💛 We also enjoyed a fun quiz that had everyone joining in, sharing stories, and having plenty of laughs. 🧩🎉

One of the most meaningful parts of the day was spending time in one-to-one conversations, talking about the friendships that have shaped our lives. 💬❤️ These precious chats brought back so many treasured memories, with residents sharing touching stories of lifelong friends, happy adventures, and the people who have made a lasting difference in their lives. 🥹✨

It was a beautiful reminder that friendship has no age and that the connections we make continue to bring comfort, joy, and love throughout our lives. 💖

Resident Spotlight – Isobel 🌟

This month, we're shining the spotlight on Isobel, affectionately known to everyone as "Dizzy."

Isobel spent much of her life in London's West End, close to Baker Street, where she enjoyed being surrounded by family and the vibrant atmosphere of the city. A talented singer with a passion for music, she performed and produced records under the stage name J. Peters. Music has always been an important part of her life and remains one of her greatest passions.

A proud mother of two, Isobel has one son and one daughter, who means the world to her.

When it comes to food, Isobel enjoys hearty, flavoursome meals, particularly meats served with fresh salad and baked potatoes. Her favourite colour is red, perfectly reflecting her confident, vibrant personality.

With her love of music, fascinating life experiences, and warm character, Isobel brings a unique energy to the Kestrel Grove community, and we are delighted to celebrate her this month.

🎤🎶 When our residents can’t come to the entertainment, we bring the entertainment to them! ❤️🏡

Today we took the music straight to our bedroom residents in Bedrooms 1️⃣2️⃣1️⃣, making sure no one missed out on the joy, laughter, and special moments. 🎵💕

There were smiles, singing, dancing from the comfort of their rooms, and even a few special song requests that made the experience extra meaningful. 🎼✨ Seeing familiar faces light up as they heard their favourite tunes reminded us that music truly has the power to bring people together, wherever they are. 💖

Every resident deserves to feel included, celebrated, and connected—and we’re always happy to make those little moments happen. 🌟

🐶💕 Monthly Pet Therapy Visit at Kestrel Grove 💕🐶

What a wonderful day at Kestrel Grove as we welcomed the gorgeous Poppy & Polly 🐩🐩, our adorable toy poodles, for their monthly visit!

Our residents absolutely loved spending time with these beautiful girls. There were plenty of smiles, cuddles, gentle strokes, and heartwarming moments shared with both residents and staff alike. 🥰🤗

These visits are especially meaningful for our residents who are bed-bound, as Poppy & Polly spend time with them on a 1:1 basis, bringing comfort, companionship, and lots of wagging tails right to their rooms. 💖🐾

Pet therapy offers so many wonderful benefits, including:
✨ Reducing stress and anxiety
💜 Boosting mood and emotional wellbeing
😊 Encouraging conversation and social interaction
🧠 Stimulating memories and cognitive engagement

Staff Spotlight – Jonathan 🌟

We are delighted to welcome Jonathan Amador to the Kestrel Grove family as our new Deputy Manager! Jonathan is passionate about making a meaningful difference and is looking forward to supporting the continued growth of Kestrel Grove while delivering outstanding, person-centred care.

Jonathan describes his leadership style as judicious, optimistic, and nurturing, and his greatest strength is being a well-organised leader and experienced practitioner.

Outside of work, Jonathan loves travelling, going to the gym, visiting the cinema, relaxing at the beach, and exploring new places around the world. A fun fact that might surprise everyone is that he used to be a fashion and runway model during his younger years!

He's a coffee lover, a night owl, and his favourite colour is black. Jonathan enjoys all kinds of food and believes that eating out is much more than a meal—it's an art! His ideal holiday combines sunshine, relaxation and adventure, and when it's time to unwind, you'll usually find him watching Netflix with a glass of red wine. Jonathan is also a proud owner of a beautiful Maine C**n cat called Zendaya, who is very much the diva of the house!

When asked to describe himself in one word, he smiled and said "Amadorable", a fun play on his surname that his colleagues have already embraced. Please join us in giving Jonathan a very warm welcome — we're excited to have him as part of the Kestrel Grove team and look forward to the positive impact he'll make for our residents, relatives and staff.
