The Radiology Team at the University Hospital of Wales is currently experiencing a very high volume of telephone calls. Patients who wish to make an enquiry are therefore encouraged, where possible, to contact the department via email instead.

Although we understand that email may not be everyone’s preferred method of communication, using email helps the department respond to enquiries more quickly.

Appropriate enquiries by email include:

β€’ Cancelling or rearranging appointments
β€’ Checking waiting list times
β€’ Confirming that referrals have been received
β€’ Confirming appointment dates and times

Patients should include the following information in their email:

β€’ Full name
β€’ Date of birth and/or hospital or NHS number
β€’ Current address
β€’ Contact telephone number

Depending on the nature of your enquiry, please use the following email addresses:

β€’ Ultrasound: [email protected]
β€’ CT scans: [email protected]
β€’ MRI: [email protected]

πŸ“’ Practice Update πŸ“’

We are pleased to announce that we have now fully migrated to our new clinical system and are fully up and running.

This new system provides improved functionality and will help us work more efficiently, allowing us to continue delivering the best possible service to our patients.

So, what's next?

Our team is now undertaking training to introduce Electronic Prescribing, which is planned to go live in September. This will allow patients to nominate a preferred pharmacy, with prescriptions being sent directly to the pharmacy electronically, removing the need to collect paper prescriptions from the surgery.

We will continue to keep you updated throughout this process and share further information as we move closer to launch.

Once again, thank you for your patience, kindness, and support towards our surgery team during these changes. Your understanding has been greatly appreciated as we continue to improve our services for our patients.

βœ… Developed a more robust recall system for chronic disease management
βœ… Supported our clinical team with essential training to provide better continuity of care for our patients

We are incredibly grateful for all patient feedback and input. Your comments and suggestions help us continue improving and providing the best possible experience for our patients.
