I am a certified Nutrition coach, CMA approved, however there is one thing I feel very strongly about and that is EVERYTHING IN MODERATION. Nowadays it is hard to escape from various sources telling us what we should and shouldn’t be eating, how we should and shouldn’t be living our lives, what we need to do more or less of. It’s exhausting! The one bit of advice I give as a nutrition coach is allow yourself to have an occasional guilt-free day. Life is to be enjoyed. Yes, we all want to live a healthy, happy life but let’s not obsess over the so called ‘facts’ (usually little evidence to back such ‘facts’) about what we should and shouldn’t be eating and let it consume our life.
Today our plans suddenly changed and my husband and I ended up staying in, watching a feel-good movie, having a few drinks and eating movie snacks. I know I’ll feel a bit rubbish in the morning, bloated, achy joints due to inflammation for sugar, gluten etc etc, my sleep might even be affected, but I enjoyed every minute of relaxing with my husband, eating sweets, having a couple of drinks and enjoying a lovely film. It made me feel happy, relaxed and my mind was calm and content. Sometimes our body and mind need some time out, and it’s not always food that can provide that!
Tomorrow I’ll be back to my usual eating habits, but for today I have no guilt, I’m just appreciating and enjoying life. I highly recommend it! Press the pause button, relax, enjoy and remember… everything in moderation 💚 Also…. highly recommend the movie ‘Remarkably Bright Creatures’. A really beautiful, feel good movie 🥰
