Kinesiology tape can be used on an equine gluteal region as a sensory and supportive aid🐎

Star has been undergoing physiotherapy after her recent stifle meniscus tear diaganosis❤️

How it may help the gluteals🍑;

➡️Proprioceptive input: The tape stimulates receptors in the skin and superficial tissues. This sensory feedback may influence how the horse perceives and recruits the underlying muscles

➡️Movement awareness: Applied with an appropriate technique, it may help bring attention to the gluteal area during movement and potentially encourage more coordinated recruitment

➡️Support without restriction: Unlike rigid strapping, elastic kinesiology tape moves with the horse and can provide a mild external cue without significantly limiting hip or hindlimb motion

Little Chewie and his cheeky face had his second physiotherapy session last week🐾 He has been having issues with his stifles in his hindlimbs resulting in incorrect movement. After some laser therapy and prescribed exercises he is doing much better and has build up some muscle🐾❤️

Balance pads are a fantastic tool for supporting your horse’s proprioception, coordination, core strength and overall body awareness🐴

By asking the horse to carefully stabilise themselves on an unstable surface, balance pads can encourage them to engage muscles they may not regularly use and become more aware of where their feet and body are positioned🐎

hasn't always been obvious❓️

Uneven fur growth can be a normal occurrence for some dogs and for certain breeds, however if the fur has began to grow unevenly over time or actuely then this may be due to an underlying issue. Tension and pain within the musculoskeletal system can affect the hair folicle growth which can result in uneven fur growth🐾

Some causes of uneven fur growth;

❗️Muscular Restrictions

❗️ Muscle Atrophy

❗️Joint Pain

❗️Musculoskeletal Asymmetry
