❤️ Cherry angiomas — what are those little red spots?

Often referred to as “blood spots” or “red moles”, cherry angiomas are common, harmless, non-cancerous skin growths made up of small clusters of enlarged blood vessels.

They can affect anyone, but become particularly common after the age of 30 and often increase in number as we get older. Genetics and the natural ageing process are thought to play a role.

✨ Treatment is purely cosmetic.

These photos show a before and immediately after treatment using a single 560nm IPL shot, demonstrating the desired clinical endpoint of the angioma turning a dark purple colour.

This immediate colour change is a sign that the blood vessel has responded to the light energy. The treated vessel is damaged and collapses, restricting its blood supply. Over the following days it may become darker before naturally fading as the body clears the treated tissue.

Small cherry angiomas can often respond very well in just 1–2 treatments, although results vary from person to person.

Please note: any new, changing or unusual skin lesion should always be assessed by an appropriate medical professional before cosmetic treatment.

Red veins, anyone? 👀

No? I didn’t think so! 🤣

Those little broken veins and spider veins on the face can be incredibly frustrating — and they can be surprisingly difficult to cover with makeup.

The good news? IPL can help reduce the appearance of facial thread veins and redness, leaving the skin looking clearer and more even.

If you’re currently tanned, wait until your tan has faded before booking. IPL isn’t suitable for recently tanned skin, so we’ll always assess your skin first.

✨ What to expect:
A course of treatments is usually needed. Depending on your skin type, the veins being treated and how you respond, this can range from around 2–6 sessions.

Every person is different, which is why your treatment starts with a consultation and patch test to make sure IPL is appropriate and safe for you.

Ready to say goodbye to those pesky red veins? ❤️

SKINTOX — MORE THAN JUST A GLOW ✨

So, what exactly is SkinTox?

It’s my carefully designed skin-rejuvenation treatment combining gentle skin preparation + micro-infusion to target the overall quality and appearance of your skin.

🍋 STEP 1 — PREPARE
We begin with a gentle Lactic Acid + Glutathione peel to exfoliate, brighten and refine the skin, creating the perfect canvas for the treatment.

💉 STEP 2 — MICRO-INFUSION
Ultra-fine needles create tiny, temporary channels in the skin, allowing a carefully selected cocktail of ingredients to be delivered beyond the skin’s surface.

✨ WHAT’S IN THE COCKTAIL?

• Micro-dosed Botulinum Toxin — to help reduce the appearance of excess oil, enlarged-looking pores, redness and sweating.

• Hyaluronic Acid — to support hydration and that fresh, plump, dewy appearance.

• Growth Factors + Peptides — to support the skin’s natural renewal processes and improve the appearance of texture and overall skin quality.

And there’s another benefit…

The micro-infusion process itself stimulates the skin’s natural repair and renewal response, supporting collagen and elastin production.

THE RESULT?

Skin that looks smoother, brighter, fresher and more refined, with improved hydration and that beautiful healthy-skin glow.

SkinTox isn’t about changing your face.

It’s about elevating the quality of your skin. 🤍

📅 My SkinTox protocol: approximately every 3 months, allowing your skin time to respond and renew between treatments.

Subtle jawline enhancement — without changing the face.

This patient, in her early 40s, came with concerns around very early jowling and some chin recession.

Importantly, her jawline had not “collapsed” and she was not a candidate for surgery. There was no need for a dramatic intervention — just a little support in the right place.

For this treatment, I used Radiesse, a specialist injectable that gives some immediate structural improvement, while also working over time to stimulate collagen in the treated area.

So, although it is often referred to as a filler, I think of it much more as a biostimulatory treatment with an immediate effect.

And this is the important bit…

Radiesse is not about creating a dramatically different jawline. It is not a treatment I would reach for when there is moderate to severe laxity of the neck or jaw, and it certainly isn't a substitute for surgery when surgery is indicated.

The result here is deliberately subtle, proportionate and harmonious with the rest of the face.

My regulars will know exactly what I'm going to say next… 🤣

It’s about choosing the right treatment for the right problem.

If you look at this result and recognise some of the concerns you have — whether you're male or female — get in touch.

A consultation is always the starting point, so we can assess your anatomy, concerns and whether this is actually the right treatment for you.

“I can’t see any difference.” 😬

Those words can be disheartening for both the patient and the injector — especially when, objectively, there is an improvement in the before-and-after.

But this is one of those areas of aesthetic medicine that is genuinely tricky to treat: lipstick lines and the perioral area.

It’s an uncomfortable area to treat, so numbing is used. The mouth is constantly moving — eating, drinking, talking, smoking, smiling — so whatever we do is working against a huge amount of movement and wear and tear.

And we have to be careful. Overfilling this area can look far worse than the lines themselves. The aim isn't to erase every line, but to soften them while keeping the mouth looking completely natural.

In this case, the treatment shown was dermal filler alone, and although the photographs do show an improvement, my patient unfortunately wasn't able to see or feel the difference she had hoped for. And honestly, that makes me sad. 😔

So what else can an aesthetic nurse offer when treating this area?

If I'm being completely honest, this is often an area where a combination approach gives the best results, rather than relying on one treatment.

✨ 1. Specialist dermal filler – such as RHA 1, used carefully to support and soften the area without overfilling.

✨ 2. A tiny amount of wrinkle-relaxing treatment – to reduce excessive puckering and pursing around the mouth where appropriate.

✨ 3. Laser treatments – to stimulate collagen and improve skin quality and texture.

✨ 4. Medical microneedling – potentially combined with polynucleotides, alongside polynucleotide treatments where appropriate.

Sometimes, every little bit helps. We aren't necessarily looking for one dramatic transformation; small improvements in skin quality, movement and structure can add up to a meaningful difference — and, most importantly, a boost in someone's confidence.

But here's the other side of aesthetic medicine that isn't always talked about…

You can't win them all.

Sometimes you've done everything you can, the photographs show improvement, but the patient still isn't happy with what they see. And learning to accept that disappointment — for both the patient and the practitioner — is part of the job.

For me, it's a reminder that aesthetic medicine isn't simply about treating a line or changing a feature.

It's about understanding what the patient wants to see when they look in the mirror — and sometimes, despite our best efforts, we don't quite get there. ❤️

“OLD LADY HANDS!” 😂😂

Yep… that’s what she called them!

And honestly, I’m now looking at my own hands thinking… I’m next! 🤣🙈

Those pesky age spots and sun marks can be one of the first things to give away how much fun you’ve had in the sun ☀️😂

So this Autumn, once that tan has faded, I’m seriously considering giving my hands a little IPL TLC.

✨ IPL can help improve the appearance of age spots and pigmentation
✨ Helps rejuvenate the skin
✨ Can leave hands looking fresher, brighter and more even

BUT… there are rules! 👇

☀️ Tan needs to be faded
🧴 SPF 50 becomes your new best friend
💧 Hand moisturiser… and lots of it! Slather those hands!

I’ve also got a medical-grade product that’s stronger than what you can buy over the counter, which can help support and speed up the process.

And before anyone gets too excited… 😂

A consultation and test patch are required before treatment. We’ll chat through your skin, medical history and suitability, and carry out a test patch to check for any rare but possible skin reactions.

Because gorgeous hands are the goal… not crispy hands! 😂🔥

Want to give your hands a little Autumn glow-up?

📩 DM me “HANDS” and let’s chat about whether IPL could be suitable for you.

It’s never too late to start looking after your skin. ✨

Today I’m sharing a before & after of a lovely lady in her later years who had experienced significant sun damage over the years.

She felt that the sunbathing she had enjoyed in her younger days had finally caught up with her. Despite feeling mentally alert, youthful and full of life, she was becoming increasingly disheartened by the reflection in the mirror.

So, what have we done? 🤍

Consistency has been the key. And we’ve certainly enjoyed our chats along the way!

✨ Wrinkle Relaxation to the frown and eye area, repeated every 3 months.

✨ 6 x Regen Peels — medium depth, with particular attention given to the upper lip area.

✨ SPF 50 EVERY DAY — and no, it is absolutely NOT too late!
Alongside this, a consistent professional skincare routine including a Vitamin C serum and peptide moisturiser.

And we’re not finished yet…

The plan going forward:
🌟 Luminosity Laser — 2–3 sessions over the winter months to continue working on pigmentation, texture and overall skin luminosity.

This is a beautiful reminder that your skin can still respond, improve and become healthier at any age. It’s never about turning back the clock — it’s about helping you feel as good on the outside as you do on the inside. ❤️

What do you think of the results?

If you’re concerned about sun damage, pigmentation, lines or changes in your skin and would like to know what could be achievable for you, send me a DM or book a consultation. Let’s make a plan together. ✨
