Wellness has become a popular word in recent years.🥰

We see it everywhere, healthy meals, gym memberships, step counts, supplements, self help books and morning routines.

But wellness isn’t one size fits all.🧘

For some, wellness is a challenging workout and feeling physically strong.
For others, it’s taking a quiet walk, reading a book, or saying no to something that drains their energy.

Sometimes wellness looks like nourishing your body with wholesome food.
Sometimes it looks like enjoying a coffee with a friend and sharing a laugh.

It might be getting enough sleep, managing stress, spending time in nature, moving your body, having meaningful connections, or taking a moment to simply breathe.🧘

And yes, wellness can also include holistic therapies that encourage you to slow down, relax and reconnect with yourself.💙💚

The truth is, wellness isn’t about being perfect.

It’s about creating small habits and choices that help you feel more balanced, supported and able to navigate life’s ups and downs.

Somewhere along the way, many of us learned that resting had to be earned.

That we could only stop once everything was done.
Once everyone else was taken care of.
Once the to do list was complete.

But life rarely works like that.

There will always be another task, another email, another load of washing, another thing asking for your attention.

A pause isn’t a sign that you’re giving up.
A pause is an opportunity to check in with yourself.

How are you feeling?
What do you need?
What would help you move through the rest of the day with a little more ease?

Today, allow yourself a few moments to simply be.

🌿 Take a breath.
🌿 Put the kettle on.
🌿 Sit in the garden.
🌿 Listen to the birds.

Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is pause. I know you know this but thought I’d remind you. 🥰

We spend so much time looking after everyone else that we often forget to check in with ourselves.

Today, give yourself five minutes.

Sit with a cup of tea.
Step into the garden.
Take a slow walk.
Read a few pages of a book.

“Oh, this feels so peaceful.”

And that’s exactly what I hoped to create.

Please don’t.

Many clients arrive feeling overwhelmed, emotional, tired or simply running on empty.

You don’t need to arrive calm.

You don’t need to have it all together.

You don’t need to explain yourself.

Just come as you are.💙💚

Before becoming a reflexologist, I spent many years working in community care, the NHS and social services. Supporting people has been at the heart of my working life for over three decades.

I’ll be taking part in the Sparkle Walk for Ashgate Hospice, helping raise money to support the incredible care they provide for local families.

Hospices hold people through some of life’s hardest moments, not just physically but emotionally too.
The support they give to patients and families is something truly special.
