🎉🎂 As we reflect on our wonderful birthday celebrations, we'd like to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped make the event so special! ❤️

🎈 A special thank you to Balloonatics Balloon Decoration & Shop for the stunning balloon displays that brought colour, fun and a real sense of celebration to the day.

📯 Thank you to Richard Plowman, Chichester Town Crier for officially kicking off our celebrations in such memorable style and ensuring everyone knew the party had begun!

💐 To Dawn Gracie, thank you for your heartfelt and inspiring speech, which made the occasion even more meaningful.

📸 A huge thank you to Cheryl Meek for capturing so many wonderful moments through her amazing photography. These memories will be treasured for years to come.

Remembering D-Day 🇬🇧❤️

Today at Waterhaven Place, we took time to reflect on and commemorate D-Day, one of the most significant moments in modern history.

For many of our residents, D-Day is not just a chapter in a history book. It is a reminder of a generation's courage, sacrifice and resilience. Remembering D-Day is important not only to honour those who served and gave so much for our freedom, but also to ensure that the values of bravery, unity and peace continue to be passed on to future generations.

Our residents marked the occasion by watching the fascinating BBC "D-Day: We Were There" documentary in our cinema room, providing an opportunity to reflect on the events of 6th June 1944 and the extraordinary individuals involved.

Followed by a mood uplift with a wonderful performance from Kim Bonsor Vocalist, whose fantastic selection of songs had residents singing along, dancing, waving flags and enjoying time together 🎶✨

A day of remembrance, reflection and celebration of the spirit of a generation that shaped the world we live in today🙏♥️

Is there enough cake??! 😂 🎉🍟🎂❤️

Some days are busy at Waterhaven Place... and some days are extra special!

Today we celebrated National Fish & Chips Day in the best way possible — with proper chippy-style lunches served in traditional takeaway boxes. Residents had the all-important choice between fish and chips or a battered sausage, and we're pleased to report there were plenty of happy customers and empty boxes! 🍽️😋

The celebrations didn't stop there...

A very special Happy Birthday to Roger! 🎂🥳 Knowing Roger's hearing difficulties, the team rolled up their sleeves to came up with an idea... To record ourselves singing Happy Birthday and giving him headphones so he could enjoy every note as we arrived with his cake and presents🤩 The smile on his face was worth every second of preparation💛

And if that wasn't enough cake for one day, we were also delighted to celebrate the 16th wedding anniversary of our beloved David and his wife Fran! ❤️ A beautiful milestone marked with cake, happy memories and time spent together — exactly as it should be.

Fish and chips, birthdays, anniversaries, laughter, cake and wonderful company... now that's a recipe for a fantastic day at Waterhaven Place! ✨

Care Home Open Week is a wonderful opportunity to open our doors, showcase life within our homes, and bring together residents, families, neighbours, local businesses, healthcare professionals and community groups for a week of connection, fun and celebration.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and celebrated our 1st Birthday Party with us last night! 🎉🥳

What an incredible evening it was, and we are so grateful to have shared it with such wonderful people. Your support, laughter, and enthusiasm helped make the night truly special and one to remember.

It's hard to believe it's been a whole year already, and we couldn't have reached this milestone without the support of our residents, families, friends, colleagues, and local community.

Thank you for being part of our journey and for helping us celebrate this special occasion. Here's to many more happy memories together! ❤️
