Next week is our World Cup Week, giving everyone the chance to celebrate the beautiful game and learn more about football's rich history!

It also brings back fond memories of watching England's famous 1966 World Cup victory, a moment that remains one of the greatest achievements in English sporting history. We will be reminiscing and watching games along with showing the 1966 game!

As Wimbledon approaches, there is a similar feeling of anticipation, with the nation's attention turning to the grass courts, strawberries and cream, and the tradition of world-class tennis. Together, the World Cup celebrations and Wimbledon highlight the wonderful sporting heritage that continues to inspire generations.

A few residents enjoyed a trip into town this week, where they visited the art gallery at the Corinium Museum and spent some time exploring the museum itself.

Everyone enjoyed looking at the exhibits and discussing their favourite pieces. Afterwards, the group relaxed with a coffee and a chat before heading home.

It was a lovely outing, and we are looking forward to returning next week with different residents when the weather is hopefully a little better. 🙂

Making decisions about care is rarely straightforward.

Whether it’s after a hospital stay, a fall or simply noticing that daily life is becoming more difficult, families are often faced with important decisions at a time of stress and uncertainty. Too often these decisions need to be made quickly, without having the time to fully understand what level of support is needed.

That’s why we’ve created Smart Start.

Smart Start is a flexible 2-4 week home care service designed to give individuals and families the time, space and professional support needed to make informed decisions about future care. During this period, a dedicated care worker provides personalised support at home, helping with daily routines, personal care, companionship and practical assistance while gaining a real understanding of day-to-day needs.

Whether you’re exploring care at home, considering a move into a care home, or simply unsure of the next right step, Smart Start allows you to experience care without pressure or long-term commitment.

No pressure. No commitment. Just time, support and clarity.

David the magician visited us to provide entertainment and create a memorable experience. 🎩 He performed a variety of magic tricks. Between his magic acts, he sang beautiful songs that added a special touch to the performance. His confidence, energy, and sense of humour kept everyone engaged from beginning to end.

The Mother and Baby Group was a great success and has continued to be a talking point among residents. Residents thoroughly enjoyed spending time with the babies, toddlers, and mums, with many engaging in friendly conversations and sharing stories.

The interaction brought lots of smiles and laughter throughout the session. Residents also enjoyed playing games with the toddlers, creating meaningful connections across generations. The visit provided a warm, lively atmosphere and helped promote social engagement and wellbeing for everyone involved. We even listened to some nursery techno which residents were joining in and singing to!

Making decisions about care for a loved one is rarely easy.

Whether it's following a hospital stay, a change in health, or growing concerns about managing at home, families are often asked to make important decisions at a time of uncertainty and emotional pressure.

That's why we're proud to introduce Smart Start. A new short-term care service designed to give individuals and families the time, support and reassurance they need to make informed decisions about future care.

By providing personalised support at home, Smart Start creates the space to explore options, understand care needs more clearly and move forward with confidence, without feeling rushed into long-term decisions.

At Agincare, we understand that deciding on care for a loved one is rarely straightforward. It often comes at a time of uncertainty, such as after a hospital stay, following a change in mobility or health, or when families begin to realise that day-to-day support is becoming harder to manage.…
