Waiting can feel so hard when you’re eager for reassurance. We completely understand. 🤍

One of the most common questions we’re asked is, “Can I have a scan before 6 weeks?”

While we know the wait can be emotional, scanning too early often means there simply isn’t enough to see yet. This can lead to unnecessary worry, even when your pregnancy is progressing normally.

By waiting until 6 weeks gestation, there’s a much better chance of seeing important early pregnancy structures and, in most cases, a heartbeat—giving you a clearer and more reassuring experience.

Our priority is always to provide you with the most accurate information while supporting you every step of your pregnancy journey. 💗

Want to join our fabulous team? ✨

We are looking for a scan assistant/receptionist to join us! The role is for just 1 day a week - Sunday 9am-5pm based in our lovely Colchester clinic.

The role entails working along side our sonographer to ensure a smooth running day and provide a high level of care to our wonderful clients. 🤍

It is such a rewarding job within a small (but wonderful) team - previous experience isn’t essential as full training and shadowing will be provided. This is a customer facing role so the ideal candidate should be bubbly, confident, compassionate with excellent communicate skills. 💫

This is Week 13 ✨

Welcome to the second trimester! 🎉 Many parents-to-be find that some early pregnancy symptoms begin to ease around this time.

🤍 Your baby is now about the size of a peach.
🤍 Tiny fingerprints are beginning to form.
🤍 Bones continue to harden and strengthen.
🤍 Baby can make small movements, but they’re usually too gentle to feel.
🤍 The intestines are moving into their permanent position inside the abdomen.
🤍 Your uterus is growing and may start becoming more noticeable above the pelvis.

💡 Every pregnancy is unique, so symptoms and baby growth can vary from person to person.

☀️ Growing a little one is hard work at the best of times, but during warmer weather it can feel even more challenging.

Pregnancy naturally raises your body temperature, so it’s important to take extra care of yourself when the temperatures climb. Staying hydrated, wearing loose and breathable clothing, resting when you need to, and avoiding the hottest parts of the day can all help you stay comfortable. 💧

Remember, every pregnancy is different. Listen to your body and don’t feel guilty about slowing down or asking for help. Your wellbeing matters just as much as your baby’s. 💕

If you’re feeling unwell, dizzy, experiencing persistent headaches, or have concerns about reduced movements, please make sure to contact your midwife or healthcare provider for advice.
