Welcome to our official page. We are a 8 GP Partnership and Training Practice in Fife.

It's getting to that time of year - colds and flu are doing the rounds. But how do you know the difference and what should you do? Read on to find out more ⬇️

Most symptoms can be safely managed at home. Rest, drink plenty of fluids, and use paracetamol or ibuprofen to ease aches and fever. Your pharmacist can advise on cold and flu remedies.

Antibiotics won’t help with colds and flu as they are viruses – time and self-care are best.

To stop the spread:
💉 get your flu vaccination if you are eligible
🧼 wash your hand regularly
😷 cover coughs and sneezes

We are working with NHS Fife to restore these at the moment and hope they will be up and running very soon.

ℹ️ Update 9:30am 02/10/26 - The issues with Patient Access have now been resolved ℹ️

‼️ Patient Access App – Important Update ‼️

We have been made aware of a technical issue with Patient Access causing problems for patients to make requests for prescriptions and book appointments through the Patient Access app.

As this appears to be an issue with Patient Access itself, unfortunately it is something we are unable to resolve directly at the Practice. The technical support team who are responsible for Patient Access are working to resolve these issues.

While the issue is ongoing, you can still request your repeat medication by:

✅ Completing a medication request slip at the practice and posting this through the dedicate letterbox in the foyer.
✅ Visiting our website and completing the online prescription request form Prescription Request: https://www.cowdenbeathmedicalpractice.co.uk/clinics-and-services/your-record/repeat-prescription-request/

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience and understanding while the issue is being resolved.

Protected Learning Time (PLT) - Tuesday 8th September 2026

On Tuesday 8th September 2026 the Practice will close for training in the afternoon from 1pm-6pm. The Practice will operate as normal from 8am-1pm.

We will re-open at 8am on Wednesday 9th September 2026.
