Medical Receptionist/Administrator
Permanent Position

Drymen Medical Practice are looking for a Medical Receptionist/Administrator to join our team. You will be the first point of contact for all patient enquiries at reception and over the telephone, therefore you must have excellent communication skills. Patient focus and attention to detail is important and you will need to be able to work under pressure and use your own initiative to cope with the high volumes of work at certain times of the day. A professional approach to work and the ability to maintain confidentiality is required.
The hours are 25 hours per week. It is essential that you are available to cover 8am starts and 6pm finishes. Flexibility in this role is essential as you will be required to cover annual leave and any absences.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR PATIENTS

The practice is moving to a new clinical system. This is part of a national programme affecting all GP practices in Scotland. Drymen Medical Practice moves to the new clinical system on Wednesday 30th September 2026. In preparation for this, we need to:

Stop booking appointments – there will be NO appointments available after Wednesday 23rd September 2026. The practice will continue to see emergency requirements during this time.

Issue medication early – if your medication is due between Monday 21st September and Wednesday 7th October 2026, please order this early. We will accept early requests.

We will have NO ACCESS to our clinical system on Friday 25th September, Monday 28th September, Tuesday 29th September and Wednesday 30th September. We will therefore only be able to deal with emergency requests for care during the above-noted period. All routine requests will need to be made after Wednesday 30th September once we are live with our new clinical system.

We would like to thank you for your patience and understanding during this national change.

On Monday 8th December patients have the opportunity to drop in to Drymen Surgery to get their winter vaccinations. Just attend between the hours of 9am - 17:20 (closed for lunch 12 - 1pm).
