Friday progress report.
Chris & the team at Blackhall - All Trades have worked through all sorts of Scottish summer weather this week and our garden room is taking shape. There will be room for many celebrations 💃🥂
We were given beautiful perfumed roses- in preparation for our new garden..
And hank you to Patrick McCarthy for planting some pots for us. Sean has learnt that when he said they needed water- he meant a Lot ! Enjoy.

Our week in pictures.
1- We love watching the squirrels raid the bird feeders we have placed all around the building.
2- We also love our trips to Drylaw for their singing group. They make us feel very welcome.
3- 5 The garden work is progressing well, with huge screws creating the foundations.
6- and when it's too hot to be in the sunshine- we crack open the popcorn for a movie afternoon 🌞

Going, going gone! 🏡
We are delighted to confirm the start of our garden redesign project here at Braeburn.
We have engaged to create a new garden room - complete with heat and light- and a lovely new fence to create a secure and private space for residents and families to enjoy.
Chrris & his team have been very efficient to date and we reckon the project will take around 4 weeks to complete.
There will be some disruption to parking during this period but I promise the end result will be worth it. Will keep you updated 💐

We love to welcome family and friends to Braeburn but tonight was extra- special.
Willow trained as a nurse in the late 1950's and travelled the world with her best friend Margaret who eventually went home to Canada to care for her Mother. They kept in touch and Willow made several trips over to see her - sometimes with her friend Maureen and her niece Alex.
Julia is Margaret's great niece and tonight Julia and Mitchell came to visit the lady they had heard about all Julia's life. - all the way from Saskatoon, Canada! Photographs were shared and new memories were made. Very special🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Happy Happy birthday to Pat today 🥰
A lady never reveals her age but Pat was delighted to see her daughter on her birthday and enjoy her gifts and a cake.
We hope you enjoyed your celebrations 🎂💐🥳

Happy International Nurse's Day!
On what would be Florence Nightingales birthday we would like to recognise the important contribution that our fantastic nurses make to the care we deliver here at Braeburn.
All our staff are valued of course.
But the role of care home nurse requires leadership, experience and compassion and is fundamental to the delivery of quality care. We thank you for all that you do. 💖

Out & about!
We take every opportunity when the sun shines to get out and enjoy all that our local community has to offer.
Rosemary chose tea and a chat in Stockbridge and Joy and Sheena enjoyed an afternoon at our local LifeCare centre, with an excellent ice- cream to follow! Ruth loves a walk in Inverleith Park although the swans are too fierce to feed ! We are lucky to live where we do.

Individual time spent reminiscing for Alex.
And an elegant manicure for Veronica.
