FRIDAY FACT
When should you worry about a head bump?
Most bumps to the head are minor, but some symptoms mean you should seek urgent medical help.
After a head injury, watch for any of the following:
Vomiting
unusual sleepiness (so its not their usual naptime)
difficulty waking
confusion
a seizure
loss of consciousness
worsening headache
the bump goes in the way
the bump looks like it has fluid in or is really big
changes in behaviour
Trust your instincts too.
If your little one just doesn't seem right after a head bump, pop to your local kids hospital and get them checked out.
For a serious injury or if they're very unwell, call 999
A bump can look small on the outside, it's the symptoms afterwards that matter.
