Edinburgh Taxi Outing at risk again with no license from Edinburgh Council just two days before annual event.
On/ off event thrown into jeopardy again over lack of license
The annual Edinburgh Taxi Outing is at risk again, with organisers concerned that they have not yet received a license to hold the event, just two days before it is due to take place.
The popular event is a staple on the Edinburgh calendar and is funded by Edinburgh taxi drivers who decorate their black cabs and provide a memorable day out for children with additional needs, life-limiting conditions and terminal illnesses.
The outing was already at risk of cancellation when Police Scotland withdraw their police motorcyclists from escorting the parade through the city.
Yet due to a concerted effort from Police Scotland, the City of Edinburgh Council’s planning and roads departments along with East Lothian Council, a solution was found and the outing appeared to have been reprieved.
