Today we want to take a moment to recognise and thank all of our incredible nurses for the care, compassion and dedication they show every single day.

From supporting patients through difficult times, to celebrating the happy moments, offering reassurance, advice and kindness — nursing is so much more than a job. It takes skill, resilience, patience and a huge heart ❤️

We are incredibly lucky to have such a hardworking and caring nursing team here at The Mount View Practice and we are grateful for everything they do for our patients, our practice and each other.

**WE ARE RECRUITING**

The Mount View Practice are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Practice Nurse to join our friendly, patient-focused primary care team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive and forward-thinking GP practice committed to delivering high-quality care to our local population.

We are ideally looking for an experienced Practice Nurse; however, we would also warmly welcome applications from nurses with a different clinical background who can demonstrate transferable skills and a willingness to develop within primary care.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering nursing services, health promotion, and chronic disease management within a busy but rewarding environment.

Hours: 25.5 per week (Wednesday, Thursday & Friday)

May is Skin Cancer Awareness Month

☀️ Skin Cancer Awareness Month – Know What to Look For ☀️

Most moles and skin changes are harmless — but it’s important to know what to look out for.

🚨 Check for:
• A new mole or skin mark
• A mole that changes shape, colour, or size
• A mole with uneven edges
• A sore that doesn’t heal
• Itching, bleeding, crusting, or pain

A good way to remember is the ABCDE rule:
• Asymmetry
• Border irregularity
• Colour changes
• Diameter increasing
• Evolving or changing

☀️ Skin Cancer Awareness Month – Protect Your Skin ☀️

Skin cancer is one of the most common cancers in the UK — but there are simple things you can do to reduce your risk.

🧴 Protect your skin by:
• Using sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher
• Reapplying regularly
• Covering up in the sun
• Wearing a hat and sunglasses
• Avoiding sunbeds
• Taking extra care between 11am and 3pm

🚨 Sunburn increases your risk — even in the UK.

Getting to know your skin can help you notice changes early.

🪞 Try to check:
• Your face and scalp
• Your back and shoulders
• Arms and legs
• Hands and feet
• Areas you don’t normally see

Ask someone to help check difficult areas if needed.

We know that visiting the practice can sometimes feel overwhelming for some of our patients, especially when it’s busy or noisy.

That’s why we’re pleased to let you know that we now have a Calm Waiting Space available at Mount View 💛

This quieter area is available for any patients who would prefer a more peaceful environment while they wait for their appointment.

If you feel this would help you, please just let a member of our reception team know when you arrive, we’ll be more than happy to show you where it is and let your Clinician know you are there.

We want all of our patients to feel as comfortable and supported as possible when they visit us 🫶🏻
