Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP)

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our established primary care Talking Therapies service who look after the adult population of The Mount View Practice & Broadway Medical Centre.

This is a training position and is full time through UCLAN.

The service offers an individualized, IAPT compliant approach to Primary Care Mental Health.

Our service endeavours to ensure that our patients experience the appropriate treatment, for a wide range of mental health issues, focusing on the use of Cognitive Behavioural based therapy, solution focused therapy and problem solving approaches; the use of self-help literature and psycho-educational groups; with an emphasis on general well-being.

The Post holder will be expected to complete some group work interventions.

Interviews to be held week beginning 13th July 2026

University start date September 2026

**WE ARE RECRUITING**

The Mount View Practice are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Practice Nurse to join our friendly, patient-focused primary care team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive and forward-thinking GP practice committed to delivering high-quality care to our local population.

We are ideally looking for an experienced Practice Nurse; however, we would also warmly welcome applications from nurses with a different clinical background who can demonstrate transferable skills and a willingness to develop within primary care.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering nursing services, health promotion, and chronic disease management within a busy but rewarding environment.

Hours: 25.5 per week (Wednesday, Thursday & Friday)

May is Skin Cancer Awareness Month

☀️ Skin Cancer Awareness Month – Know What to Look For ☀️

Most moles and skin changes are harmless — but it’s important to know what to look out for.

🚨 Check for:
• A new mole or skin mark
• A mole that changes shape, colour, or size
• A mole with uneven edges
• A sore that doesn’t heal
• Itching, bleeding, crusting, or pain

A good way to remember is the ABCDE rule:
• Asymmetry
• Border irregularity
• Colour changes
• Diameter increasing
• Evolving or changing

☀️ Skin Cancer Awareness Month – Protect Your Skin ☀️

Skin cancer is one of the most common cancers in the UK — but there are simple things you can do to reduce your risk.

🧴 Protect your skin by:
• Using sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher
• Reapplying regularly
• Covering up in the sun
• Wearing a hat and sunglasses
• Avoiding sunbeds
• Taking extra care between 11am and 3pm

🚨 Sunburn increases your risk — even in the UK.

Getting to know your skin can help you notice changes early.

🪞 Try to check:
• Your face and scalp
• Your back and shoulders
• Arms and legs
• Hands and feet
• Areas you don’t normally see

That’s why we’re pleased to let you know that we now have a Calm Waiting Space available at Mount View 💛

This quieter area is available for any patients who would prefer a more peaceful environment while they wait for their appointment.

If you feel this would help you, please just let a member of our reception team know when you arrive, we’ll be more than happy to show you where it is and let your Clinician know you are there.
