Happy 22-Year Work Anniversary, Genna! 🌸

Today, everyone at MasterStaff would like to celebrate an incredible milestone 22 years of dedication, loyalty and commitment.

Genna joined MasterStaff at just 20 years old and has been a valued member of the team ever since. Now, as our Finance Director and Payroll Manager, her knowledge, hard work and attention to detail play a vital role in keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes.

After more than two decades with us, as Genna herself stated today, she’s officially part of the furniture! 😂 And don’t worry, Genna we’re sure we can squeeze another 22 years out of you yet! 😉

Joking aside, we are incredibly grateful for your continued loyalty, dedication and everything you have contributed to MasterStaff over the years. 22 years is an incredible achievement and certainly a milestone worth celebrating.

💜 International Overdose Awareness Day – 31 August 💜

Today, we remember those we have lost to overdose, stand alongside those who are struggling, and work together to reduce stigma, raise awareness and prevent further loss of life.

Overdose can affect anyone. It can happen accidentally, and with knowledge, compassion and support, we can help save lives.

💜 Be compassionate — overdose is not a choice. Everyone deserves kindness, dignity and respect.

💬 Start a conversation — talking openly about overdose and drug use can save lives. Check in with someone, listen without judgement and offer support.

🤝 Support each other — informed, connected and supportive communities are stronger and safer for everyone.

If someone may have overdosed, call 999 immediately, ask for an ambulance, put them in the recovery position if appropriate, give naloxone if you have it, and stay with them while monitoring their breathing.

If you’re worried about your own or someone else’s drug use, help is available. Speak to your GP or search for NHS drug and alcohol support.

No judgement. Just support. Together, we can save lives. 💜

💙 Basic hours:
• Monday – 1.5 hours
• Wednesday – 3 hours
• Thursday – 2 hours
• Friday – 3.5 hours

We asked our staff: How effective are we?

We’re delighted to share some of the feedback from our recent staff survey.

Our team rated us Good or Outstanding across the areas we asked about, including:

⭐ Having the right knowledge, qualifications and skills to carry out their roles
⭐ Providing training that suits our staff and supports their continued development
⭐ Understanding the health needs and personal wishes of the people we support, while giving them choice and control

In each of these areas, 63% of staff rated us Outstanding, with the remaining 37% rating us Good. 🎉

But numbers only tell part of the story. We also asked our staff to tell us in their own words what they think:

💬 “I have the training and support to do so. I am learning new skills daily.”

💬 “I have been provided with all the relevant training to be able to carry out my job role safely.”

💬 “All training very good, shows us new skills.”

💬 “They always make their own choices. I just give advice when they need it.”

💬 “Always respect service users’ choice and always understand clients’ needs and wishes.”

These comments mean a lot to us because they show that our staff feel supported, confident and equipped to provide safe, person-centred care, while respecting the choices and wishes of the people we support. ❤️
