FitBaw Fun at Kelvinside Manor Care Home ⚽

Another fantastic FitBaw session at Kelvinside Manor Care Home, and as always, it was enjoyed by everyone who took part! 😊

Residents love this activity, not only because it's a great way to keep active, but also because it brings plenty of laughter along the way. There were lots of smiles as everyone tried their best to control the ball and take on the different challenges ✨

One of the loveliest things about these sessions is hearing residents cheer each other on. The encouragement, support, and team spirit on display make every session extra special.

A brilliant afternoon of activity, friendship, and fun. We can't wait for the next FitBaw session!

Home Baking Fun at Kelvinside Manor Care Home 👨‍🍳

There was another fantastic afternoon of baking at Kelvinside Manor Care Home, thanks to Richard, our Peri Chef 😊

Residents always enjoy getting involved in these sessions, with the opportunity to create their own delicious treats and get hands-on in the kitchen.
From mixing ingredients to adding the finishing touches, everyone enjoys being part of the process.

Of course, the best part comes at the end, tasting the finished creations and seeing all that hard work pay off!

Baking sessions are always popular, bringing people together for good conversation, creativity, and a few tasty treats along the way.

A big thank you to Richard for another enjoyable afternoon. We can't wait to see what's on the menu next time! 💙

Everyone is welcome at Kelvinside Manor as we come together to support the wonderful STV Children's Appeal ❤️

We'd love to invite our residents' families, friends, colleagues and members of the local community to pop in and enjoy a delicious breakfast roll, breakfast pastry or simply a cuppa and some great company!

A Visit to Antonine House Care Home's Big Breakfast ☕

Our residents enjoyed a lovely morning visiting our friends at Antonine House Care Home for their STV Children's Appeal Big Breakfast.

From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel incredibly welcome. It was wonderful to spend time together, catch up with familiar faces, and support such a worthwhile cause 😊

Of course, the breakfast rolls, tea, and coffee went down a treat too!

A huge thank you to everyone at Antonine House Care Home for their warm hospitality and for organising such an enjoyable event.
We had a fantastic morning and thoroughly enjoyed being part of it.

Here's to friendship, community connections, and great breakfasts! 💙

An Afternoon with Maggie's Line Dancing at Kelvinside Manor Care Home 💃🤠

We enjoyed a fantastic afternoon with our friends from Maggie's Line Dancing, who took time out of their busy schedule to visit us at Kelvinside Manor Care Home 😊

Residents were treated to a wonderful display of line dancing, with the group performing to "Here We Rodeo". Maggie shared that the song was written by a Scottish songwriter and has gone on to become popular far beyond Scotland, even reaching audiences in Nashville!

It was lovely to watch the dancers in action, and residents thoroughly enjoyed seeing them perform alongside Kevin.
The energy, enthusiasm, and talent on display made for a truly enjoyable afternoon.

A huge thank you to Maggie and all the dancers for spending time with us.

We are incredibly proud of everything you have achieved and always look forward to your visits to Kelvinside Manor Care Home 💙

Residents Enjoy an Afternoon of Music at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall

There was plenty of singing along and dancing in the aisles during a fantastic afternoon at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall. 🎶

Thanks to our friends at Dementia Heroes and Glasgow Life, residents enjoyed a wonderful concert featuring Dominic Blaikie, packed with favourite songs that had everyone joining in and enjoying the atmosphere.

It was a lovely opportunity to get out, share the experience together and enjoy an afternoon of live music in great company.

A big thank you to everyone who made the event possible. We're already looking forward to the next one

🎶Community Connections Through Music at Kelvinside Manor Care Home🎶

There's something special about music bringing people together, and that's exactly what happened at Kelvinside Manor Care Home recently.

One of our residents shared that their sister sings with a local choir and kindly approached us about bringing the group along to perform for our residents.
We were delighted to welcome them and enjoy an afternoon filled with music, community spirit, and great company 🎵

The performance was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone, with residents coming together to listen, sing along, and enjoy the wonderful atmosphere created by the choir.

A huge thank you to Margaret and the choir for taking the time to visit us.
It's moments like these that strengthen community connections and make life at Kelvinside Manor so special 💙

Come Dine With Me at Kelvinside Manor | Residents and Guests Enjoy a Special Lunch

There were plenty of compliments for our talented kitchen team during our recent Come Dine With Me event at Kelvinside Manor. 🍽️

Guests enjoyed a delicious meal prepared by Head Chef Mo and Chef Scott, with many sharing their appreciation for the food. One guest described the meal as "delightful", while another joked, "Thank goodness I didn't bring the car, I need a walk home after that!"

A big thank you goes to Mo, Scott and all of our kitchen colleagues for the care, effort and creativity they bring to every meal. Events like these are a lovely opportunity for residents and guests to come together, enjoy good food and spend time in great company.

Well done to everyone involved for making it such an enjoyable occasion.

✈️ Wishing Howie All the Very Best on His Next Adventure ✈️

There were plenty of smiles, stories, and a few tears at Kelvinside Manor Care Home as we said farewell to our dear friend Howie, who is about to begin an exciting new chapter in Australia with his son and family.

Howie first joined us for a short stay while arrangements were being made for his move. A private gentleman by nature, he initially kept to himself, but before long he began joining in with activities, starting with an exercise session and then a quiz. From there, he became a valued part of life at Kelvinside Manor 😊

One of the highlights of Howie's time with us was when he stepped forward to lead an exercise class of his own. Those attending were hooked from the very beginning, and his enthusiasm, encouragement, and gentle nature quickly made him a favourite with residents and colleagues alike.

As his departure drew closer, we knew we couldn't let him leave without a proper send-off. A surprise farewell party was organised, giving everyone the chance to thank Howie for being such a special part of our community.
There was plenty of laughter, lots of fond memories shared, and a few emotional moments too.

From everyone at Kelvinside Manor Care Home, we wish Howie safe travels and every happiness as he starts this exciting new chapter with his family.
You will be greatly missed, Howie, and you'll always have friends waiting for you at Kelvinside Manor ❤️

💙 A Wonderful Afternoon with Dementia Heroes at Kelvinside Manor Care Home💙

We had a fantastic afternoon at Kelvinside Manor Care Home with our friends from Dementia Heroes, who helped make the day extra special for everyone involved.

Residents enjoyed wonderful live music from Neil Sturgeon, with familiar songs getting plenty of people singing along and enjoying the atmosphere 🎤🎵

The afternoon also included a relaxing chair yoga session with Clare, giving residents the opportunity to take part at their own pace and try something a little different.

We were also delighted to welcome our friends from Antonine House Care Home, who joined us for a lovely lunch before the entertainment began.
A special thank you goes to our Head Chef, Mo, whose delicious lunch and fantastic pastries were enjoyed by all.

A big thank you to everyone who visited and helped create such a warm, welcoming, and enjoyable afternoon.

It was wonderful to spend time together, share experiences, and enjoy great company. 💕
