I have the class for you if you are 6weeks + vaginal delivery or 12 weeks post C-Section.
Join me Wednesdays 10:45am at my studio in Kendal starting tomorrow for my physio-led Pilates classes. Evidence tells us that it improves our mental health by upto 40% getting out to exercise with other mums.
And really that’s the story of how Calm & Control Pilates began - I have been deep in the post natal trenches and exercise helped me, as well as connection with others in the same boat.

These classes are graded for your stage in your post- natal journey - progressive load as we move through the weeks.

🤰 I have been offering Pregnancy Pilates classes for around 6 years now, and for around the last 18 months there are 2 of these classes on the schedule due to demand!
🧠 It isn’t just pot luck which exercises & props show up - I use research and evidence to plan to offer you (hopefully!) a good experience
✨ Obviously in these classes there is a regular turn over in clients - especially when babies are all expected around the same time!
🖤 And so for the next block starting 1st June the 6:30pm class will have a couple of spaces- if you are 14 weeks+ please get in touch - I would love to hear from you
👀 I have a lot to say on the benefits on exercise in pregnancy so this is the first in a series of posts coming up regarding this class specifically

🖤 It’s easy to always be looking forward, not back. But recently - coming to the end of this chapter in my professional career- I did pause for reflection.
🖊️ Applying for this role felt massive for me personally- others wouldn’t think twice about it, some may never consider it- but for me- it felt like a huge step professionally. And it was
📚 As was going back to formal study- not just weekend courses here and there- but formal study in the form of three MSC modules that I had to pass to be able to do my job
🧠 The amount I have learnt in the last 4.5 years has been insane - primary care is a very different setting with its own unique challenges and learning points!
🤔 So when I have looked back- I mostly feel proud, proud of that me who dared greatly, proud that I did that job every day to 150% of my ability, proud that as far as I know I didn’t monumentally mess up, and proud that hopefully my care and the work alongside patients and other colleagues made a difference. Proud that I undertook a big project with little extra time or resource to implement it - with lots of learning points for me and the cohort
🫶🏻 Honoured to have worked with absolutely fabulous colleagues across the practices in Kendal who have made the work day a joy- I’ll miss you!
💻 And the FCP team across South Cumbria and North Lancashire - we didn’t see each other in real life much- but the support through the weekly meetings and the group is immeasurable - such an amazing group of clinicians
🫡 The NHS comes under flack but everyone I have come across works incredibly hard day in day out for the best for the patient.
📅 For now, my part in it has come to an end. Never say never again. But for now some time to enjoy growing my business and spending time with my boys

🩶 I often wonder what people feel they benefit or gain from coming to Pilates classes
🤍 It always saddens me when the time comes that mums have to finish Pilates due to impending return to work, the dreaded mat pay finishing, or simply that babies have got a little too active! There have been a lot of these mums lately as Baby Friendly classes have been so busy this year
🖤 And so I asked them how they have felt about their Calm & Control journey- some of them have been through pregnancy & post natal so have been coming to classes for around 18 months, some have been through these programmes twice!

🩶 My next blocks of classes start Monday, there is space if you are newly post-natal in a Monday or Tuesday class, and in Pregnancy there will be space from the start of May too
