😂🐾 FRANK’S BACK ON ADMIN SUPPORT… 💻📚

The new academic year is officially underway, which means Frank has resumed his very important role in the TEAL office.

His responsibilities include:

💻 Supervising coursework
📝 Checking the paperwork
👀 Keeping a close eye on everyone’s progress
🐾 Providing emotional support when the admin gets too much
😴 And scheduling several well-earned naps throughout the working day!

He may not actually do any of the admin… but he certainly takes his supervisory role very seriously. 😂💜

What a lovely surprise to see TEAL CIC featured in this month’s September edition of Oxted Local! 🐴✨ Love Oxted

A huge thank you to Oxted Local for giving us such a wonderful feature and helping us share a little more about who we are, what we do and, most importantly, the incredible young people we support.

The article talks about our alternative education and equine-assisted learning, the life skills our young people develop, the pathways they move on to and the difference that having the right environment and the right approach can make. 💜

We’ve grown so much over the years, but our purpose has always remained the same — creating a place where young people who may have struggled within traditional education can feel safe, understood, build confidence and discover that learning can look different.

It’s especially lovely to have that recognised right here in our own local community. 🥰

🎂🎉 IT’S BEEN A WEEK OF BIRTHDAY CAKES & CELEBRATIONS AT TEAL! 🎉🎂

Apparently the new academic year isn’t just about getting back to learning… it’s also about cake! 😂💜

We’ve had a few birthdays to celebrate this week, which of course meant chocolate cakes, birthday decorations and plenty of opportunities to stop for a little celebration together. 🥳🧁

These moments are an important part of TEAL too. It’s not only about qualifications and coursework — it’s about friendships, belonging, feeling valued and being part of our little TEAL community. 💜

And judging by the photo, the cakes definitely got the thumbs up! 👍😂

📚🐴 AND WE’RE BACK TO LEARNING…!

The new academic year is officially underway at TEAL and it’s great to see our learners settling straight back into their routines. 💜

Today it’s headphones on, laptop open and learning underway — with our online Animal Care training complementing all the practical, hands-on experience our young people get here at TEAL. 🐶🐴🐔

One of the things we love about alternative education is that learning doesn’t have to look the same for everyone. Headphones, technology, movement breaks, practical activities, working outdoors or learning alongside the animals — we adapt the environment to help each young person engage in a way that works for them.

Here’s to another year of learning new skills, gaining qualifications, building confidence and working towards those future pathways. 🌟

💜 The importance of having the right people in your life…

The people around us really do matter.

The right people don’t expect you to change who you are to fit in. They make you feel safe enough to be yourself. They encourage you when things feel difficult, celebrate the little wins, listen without judgement and remind you of your strengths when you might have forgotten them yourself. 🫶

At TEAL, we see just how powerful a sense of belonging can be. Sometimes finding your people — the ones who understand you, accept you and allow you to grow at your own pace — can change everything.

And of course, we happen to think some of the right people have four legs too… 🐴💜

💜🐴 WELCOME BACK TO TEAL! 🐴💜

And just like that… a brand-new academic year begins! 🎉📚

We’re so excited to welcome our young people back to TEAL and to see some lovely new faces joining us too.

A new year means new opportunities, new friendships, new challenges and plenty more memories to make along the way. 🌱

There’ll be horses to care for, animals to cuddle, practical skills to learn, accredited courses to work towards and, most importantly, lots of opportunities for every young person to grow in confidence and achieve in their own way and at their own pace. 💜

Here’s to another year of celebrating the small steps, the BIG achievements and everything in between.
