We’ve raised over £400 for Bravelikebell in support of our colleague and her daughter, Annabell 💜💛

In July, Annabell was diagnosed with Diffuse Midline Glioma (DMG), a rare and aggressive brain tumour.

To support the family’s fundraising, we came together for a Coffee Afternoon at our Kettering centre.

It’s moments like this that remind us of the power of community, and the strength of our Teamwork Trust community.

A sincere thank you to everyone who came along, including our staff, members, volunteers, trustees and community supporters.

We’re feeling very autumnal after heading out to Saxbys C***r for some apple picking! 🍎🍏

We love getting out into the community and visiting local businesses like Saxby’s.

Visits like this are a chance for members to try something new, meet the people behind a local business, and see exactly where a product they might spot on the shelves begins.

Each of our members has their own version of independence - and we’re here to help them achieve it 💙

That may look like making a cup of tea, or it may look like a volunteering placement in a local shop. For this group, it was a recent day trip to Market Harborough.

With support from our team, the group bought their own train tickets, travelled there by train, and chose where they wanted to go and what they wanted to eat.

First stop was Wingates Gallery, then on to the indoor market for lunch. Everyone ordered their own food at the café, paid with their own money, and chatted with the people they met along the way.

A huge well done to Jonathon, Ashley, Ian and Channie 👏

We’re opening a pop-up shop in Kettering’s Newlands Centre 🙌

We went along recently to check out the space, which is next to Grace & Co near the Gold Street entrance.

From 16th to 21st November, 9am till 4pm, members will be running the shop themselves - setting up the displays, serving customers and working the till.

You’ll find handmade jewellery, laser cut coasters, keyrings, bookmarks, t-shirts, mugs and bags, plus personalised items made to order, so it’s a good chance to get your Christmas shopping done early.

We’d love to see you there! 💙

We’re looking for volunteer minibus drivers to join our team! 🚌

As we close in on our fundraising target to buy an EV minibus, we’re getting prepared for the next step.

The new EV minibus will support our members in accessing the community - providing more chances, choices and opportunities to do the things they love 💙

But we need volunteer drivers.

If you have a D1 full clean driving licence, and want to make a difference with your time, we’d love to hear from you.

Ryn recently completed his apprenticeship with us and became our Living and Learning Co-ordinator 👏

He’s now part of the team leading our Wellingborough centre, supporting our members to gain vocational, educational, social and life skills and achieve their own version of independence.

For Ryn, that’s the best part of the job: “Helping the members see the progress they have made.”

We have new qualified PAT testers at all three of our centres! ⚡️

Members and coaches spent a full day training with Peter from Plugtest, learning about voltage, circuits and how to spot electrical dangers, along with everything else that goes into testing an appliance safely.

The group threw themselves into it, and we now have three qualified coaches plus a qualified member at each of our Kettering, Corby and Wellingborough centres.

PAT testing is part of My Enterprise, our member-led social enterprise programme, so this qualification puts members at the heart of a real service that local businesses can book.

Coming soon: The Teamwork Trust Pop-up Shop! 🎉

We’re opening our very own pop-up shop in Newlands Shopping Centre, Kettering, from 16th to 21st November, 9am till 4pm.

Everything on the shelves will be created by our members through our My Enterprise programme.

There will be jewellery, laser cut coasters, Christmas gifts, keyrings, t-shirts, mugs, bags, bookmarks, and personalised items made to order.

Our members will be running the shop themselves, too. They’re designing the uniform, setting up displays, serving customers and handling the tills, and every shift is real retail and customer service experience that counts on a CV.

We can’t wait! And we’d love to welcome you 💙

Our members recently went behind the scenes at Myton Food Group to learn about food production! 👀

Community Champion Helen and Catering Manager Kim hosted the visit, starting with a tour of the canteen and a Q&A about their roles and the jobs available in the food industry.

Alex from the Technical Laboratory then walked the group through Myton's quality control process, explaining the checks every product passes before it reaches supermarket shelves.

The day ended on a creative note, with members decorating chocolate muffins and making their own Mr Potato Heads - a fun way to link the day back to Myton's main product, potatoes.

There was plenty of laughter and lots of proud faces as members showed off their creations.

Workplace visits are one part of how we help members work toward their own version of independence. Meeting employers on their own site gives members a clearer picture of the jobs out there and the skills those jobs require.

Baking is one of our members’ favourite sessions, so this is a celebration of what’s been coming out of our kitchens! 🧁

From cakes to cookies, quiches and sausage rolls, members follow recipes step by step, weigh and measure their own ingredients, and use kitchen equipment safely.

It’s a life skill they can take home with them too. Knowing you can follow a recipe and make something for yourself, or for the people you care about, is a real step towards independence.

We always come together afterwards to enjoy what we’ve baked 😋
