💚 Lancaster and Morecambe Crematorium Open Day 💚

Today we are supporting our colleagues at Lancaster & Morecambe Crematorium. They are opening up their facilities for everybody to come and look around. We will be here from 11am to 3pm.

There are stalls, crematory and nature tours, Delicious Desserts from Heysham and much more!

We will be raising funds for the Blood Bikes, who will also be in attendance! Can you guess how many balloons are in our limousine? 🎈

We are supporting The Olive Branch and are now a collection point for any donations! You can find our collection point in our community corner in the front reception area.

A message from The Olive Branch;

“Schools across Lancaster and Morecambe are halfway through summer holidays. These 6-7 week holidays puts an additional financial strain on families, especially with children who would usually be receiving free school meals.

The Olive Branch’s food stocks are currently very low, particularly of staple items such as tinned meat meals, tinned lunch meat, rice, cereal, tinned fruit and biscuits.

If you feel able to donate an item or two or even hold a collection, any help to replenish or shelves would be hugely appreciated.

Donations can be dropped off to our centre in Unit 801 Harpers Mill, White Cross Business Park, LA1 4XQ; or alternatively, a list of collection points in and around Lancaster can be found on our website! Many thanks!”

On behalf of the family, we share the below announcement;

It is with great sadness that as a family we announce the passing of Neal Metcalfe, peacefully and surrounded by his loving family, on Saturday 25th July, aged 61 years, following a brave battle with cancer.

Neal will be greatly missed by his friends, family and all who knew him. He was the best son, brother, uncle and friend we could’ve wished for and although taken too soon, will be forever in our hearts, gone but never forgotten.

A celebration of Neal’s life will take place on Friday 14th August at 2.30pm, Lancaster and Morecambe Crematorium. Neal’s instructions: Wear what you want!

Family and friends are invited to join Neal’s family afterwards to eat, drink and share their memories of him.

Charitable donations in Neal’s memory are being collected for Professor A Birtle’s further research into Urology Cancers.

On Monday 17th August, from 17:30–19:00, we will be opening our doors and welcoming members of our local community to join us for an informal and friendly evening of conversation, support and guidance.

Planning ahead can feel like a difficult subject to talk about, and you may have questions about what happens when someone reaches the end of their life.

Perhaps you have a loved one receiving end-of-life care and would simply like some reassurance about the process ahead. Or perhaps you are thinking about your own future and would like to explore how planning ahead could help make things a little easier for those you love.

Our friendly and experienced team will be here to listen, answer your questions and offer guidance — without pressure or obligation.

Come along for a chat over a brew and a biscuit☕️. There really is no such thing as a silly question, and we want to make sure that everyone in our local community has access to the support, information and reassurance they need.

We’re delighted to be hosting a Summer Colouring Competition at our Morecambe funeral home!

It’s a great opportunity for children to get creative, have fun, and be in with a chance of winning. Simply follow the instructions on the poster below to enter.
