🌿✨ An Afternoon of Reflection & Remembrance ✨🌿

We warmly invite members of the local community to join us for a gentle and reflective afternoon at Preston Ireland Bowker Funeral Directors, Morecambe.

📅 Tuesday 30th June 2026
🕒 3:00pm – 5:00pm

This will be a quiet, welcoming space for anyone who would like to take a moment to remember and reflect on someone they love and miss.

Guests are invited to sit with a cup of tea or coffee and, if they wish, either write a private letter to a loved one or share a special memory of them. These can be kept privately, or placed into our Memory Box during the afternoon as a quiet and respectful act of remembrance.

There will also be a simple Memory Tree available, where messages and memories can be added in tribute if you would like to take part in that way.

There is no right or wrong way to be part of the afternoon—some may wish to write, some may choose to share a memory, some may simply sit and reflect, and others may just find comfort in being in a calm and supportive space.

All materials and refreshments will be provided, and you are welcome to stay for as little or as long as you feel comfortable.

We hope this afternoon offers a peaceful opportunity to pause, remember, and reflect in your own way.

Over the coming days, you may notice one of our funeral plan leaflets arriving through your door, or see members of our team out and about in the local community delivering them.

Please feel free to stop and have a chat with us – we’re always happy to answer any questions you may have.

Planning ahead can provide valuable peace of mind for both you and your loved ones. That’s why we offer a range of funeral plans designed to suit different needs and budgets.

Many people are surprised to learn that a funeral plan doesn’t have to be paid for in one lump sum. You can choose to make an initial payment and spread the remaining cost through affordable monthly Direct Debit payments over up to five years. (*Subject to terms and conditions)

If you’d like to learn more, you’re warmly welcome to visit us at our Morecambe or Lancaster branch for an informal, no-obligation conversation. We’ll be happy to discuss your options over a cup of tea, a biscuit, and answer any questions you may have.

For further information, please don’t hesitate to get in touch – we’re always here to help.

This week, the team at Preston Ireland Bowker would like to raise awareness of an issue that, sadly, we encounter all too often in our work as funeral directors.

Life can be busy, and days can pass quickly without us realising. However, we would like to encourage everyone in our community to take a moment to think about those living around them.

When was the last time you saw your neighbour or checked in on the person living across the street? Have their curtains remained closed for several days? Have you noticed anything out of the ordinary?

If you have concerns that someone may be struggling or unwell, a simple knock on the door or a friendly check-in could make a significant difference. This is especially important for those who live alone, are elderly, or may be coping with the loss of a loved one.

Small acts of kindness, compassion and community support can have a profound impact. Looking out for one another helps create a stronger, safer and more caring community for everyone.

Sometimes, the smallest gesture can mean more than we realise.

The teams in Lancaster and Morecambe are also here for you. If you ever need a chat, a listening ear, or simply a cup of tea, please feel free to call into one of our branches. You do not have to be arranging a funeral or facing a bereavement to reach out — our doors are always open, and we will be there to welcome and support you.

Talking about the future can feel difficult, and many people worry that raising the subject may upset those closest to them.

However, having these conversations can provide reassurance, clarity, and peace of mind for both you and your loved ones. Planning ahead helps ensure that your wishes are clearly recorded, reduces the need for difficult decisions during an emotional time, and can offer valuable financial security.

By arranging a funeral plan in advance, you can lock in today’s prices and help ease the financial burden on your family in the future. Flexible monthly payment options are available, and we can visit you in the comfort of your own home to make the process as relaxed and convenient as possible.

As a special offer, when you purchase a funeral plan before 14th July, you will receive a gift card worth up to £150 — perfect for a family day out or as a well-deserved treat for yourself.
