We are so excited to welcome everyone who has booked a place for our exclusive general residential care Showaround Day at Ghyll Royd Care Home tomorrow, Thursday 4th June! 🏡

We kicked off the weekend early on Friday at Ghyll Royd Care Home with a delicious Open Breakfast enjoyed by everyone, followed by a magical afternoon with Kevin the Magician, whose fantastic performance had the whole room captivated! ✨🎩 Saturday morning called for a special treat, with residents requesting a McDonald's breakfast alongside their morning coffee ☕️🍔, before we enjoyed a lively afternoon of bowling! 🎳

We also celebrated two very special birthdays! The lovely 'L' enjoyed a wonderful birthday spending time in our beautiful gardens, whilst 'T' had a fantastic day out with his family, returning to a gorgeous birthday cake waiting for him. 🎂☀️ On Sunday, we made the most of the lovely weather with a scenic walk to the park opposite, followed by a fabulous, high-energy performance from Leanne King. There was so much singing, dancing, and great banter with the crowd! 🎤💃

We even had a surprise visit from a very special little four-legged friend! Dave the pug, who belongs to 'M' on Beech and now lives with her niece, popped in to get lots of fuss from everyone. 🐾🐶 To top off an amazing few days, yesterday we had a wild time welcoming 'Walk on the Wild Side' for a fantastic interactive animal experience that brought so much joy to our residents! 🦉🦔

We had the most wonderful day out at the beautiful Bolton Abbey yesterday! ☀️

Our residents soaked up the lovely scenery and enjoyed a perfect summer's day. We stopped off for a delicious coffee at the café, had a brilliant time browsing the gift shop for a few treats, and finished off our trip with a delightful picnic right by the riverside. ☕️🧺

It was the perfect way to spend the day together, making beautiful memories and enjoying the fresh air. 🌳✨

'Overwhelming' response to care home group clothing appeal

We have had a wonderful, busy time at Ghyll Royd Care Home! Yesterday, our green-fingered residents tended to our tomatoes by snipping the side shoots, re-tying them to their canes, and watering the seedlings 🌱🍅

We also tried out our fantastic new exercise equipment with a lively penalty shootout, noodle hoopla, and some flexible noodle workouts ⚽ Active afternoons are always full of laughs here!

Later, we held an outdoor dominoes tournament in the fresh air before cooling down with sweet ice lollies and a classic cuppa in the lovely weather 🍭☕

We have been soaking up every single drop of this glorious sunshine here at Ghyll Royd Care Home! ☀️ We kicked off the sunny weekend on Friday by getting stuck into some gardening, making sure everyone was looking the part in their sun hats and staying beautifully refreshed thanks to a wonderful selection of drinks from our fantastic kitchen team. 👒🍹

The fun and smiles carried right through to Saturday, where everyone enjoyed a really brilliant afternoon together that we would definitely recommend doing again very soon! 😊

Yesterday, our residents made the absolute most of the warm weather, staying safe with plenty of sunscreen while keeping cool with some well-deserved ice lollies on the side. 🍦 To top off a wonderful weekend, we came together to celebrate a very special birthday for our lovely resident, HW, who had a beautiful birthday cake and thoroughly enjoyed sharing a delicious slice of it with everyone! 🎂💕
