🐾 Building understanding, breaking down barriers. 💙

We were delighted to welcome Guide Dogs to First Bridge School for an insightful training session with our staff.

Through practical activities, including experiencing different levels of visual impairment using simulation goggles, our team gained valuable insight into the challenges children may face, signs to look out for, and how visual impairment can overlap with other developmental needs.

As we supporting pupils at our school with visual impairments, this training was a valuable opportunity to deepen our understanding and strengthen how we support our pupils and their families.

A huge thank you to the wonderful Guide Dogs team for sharing their knowledge and expertise with us! 🐾

A day full of muddy boots, happy smiles and farmyard adventures! 🐷🐑🌻

Our pupils had a wonderful time exploring the farm, meeting the animals and discovering more about the world around them. So many exciting experiences, special moments and opportunities to learn beyond the classroom! 💚

✨ A special morning at First Bridge School ✨

This morning, we had the privilege of welcoming families to First Bridge for an intimate Open Day, offering families the opportunity to explore our school throughout the day, meet our team and get a real sense of what makes First Bridge such a special place.

Alongside a tour of our environment, families spent time with members of our senior teaching and therapeutic teams, sharing their experiences and talking openly about their child’s journey, strengths and aspirations.

It is always incredibly touching to hear the stories behind each child and to understand what families are looking for as they navigate the next step in their child’s education.

At First Bridge, we believe that every child deserves to be understood, valued and supported to reach their potential — both academically and personally.

We hope that some of the children we met today will soon become part of our First Bridge community, and we look forward to the possibility of welcoming them through our doors.

Welcome to First Bridge School. Specialist school for children aged 2-11 with autism and developmental conditions

Earlier this month, we had the pleasure of attending the Nursery Management Show, where we spoke to nursery leaders and early years professionals about the importance of recognising the early indicators of developmental differences.

The early years are such a crucial time in a child's development. Identifying emerging needs early and putting the right support in place can have a lasting impact on a child's communication, learning, confidence, and future outcomes.

It was fantastic to share our knowledge, discuss the signs practitioners may observe in nursery settings, and explore how early intervention and collaborative working can help children access the support they need as soon as possible.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended our session, asked questions, and shared their own experiences. Conversations like these are so important in helping ensure that no child is overlooked.

We are always grateful for opportunities to work alongside early years professionals and raise awareness of the importance of early identification and specialist support.

What a fantastic two days at the Autism & ADHD Show last Friday and Saturday!

We had the pleasure of meeting so many wonderful families, professionals, and advocates, all passionate about supporting children and young people with autism and/or ADHD to thrive. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our stand, shared their experiences, asked questions, and took the time to learn more about our provision.

Events like these are a powerful reminder of the importance of community, collaboration, and ensuring every child has access to the right support and educational opportunities.

We're looking forward to following up with the families we met and continuing the conversations started over the weekend.

A huge thank you to the organisers for hosting such a valuable event. We thoroughly enjoyed being part of it and hope to see many of you again soon!
