This weave has travelled more than some people. 😂🇺🇦

One month. Multiple single-donor bundles. A trip to Ukraine and back.

Why? Because I don’t do ready-made, one-size-fits-all hair.

Different shades were carefully selected, sent to Ukraine to be made into one beautiful bespoke weave, then brought back to London for fitting.

And the colour? No standard shade numbers or pre-made balayage.

I strategically placed the different shades to create a beautiful, natural balayage effect using the beaded weave method.

Was it convenient? Absolutely bloody not. 😂

But my job isn’t about what’s easiest or quickest.

It’s about getting the best result. F**k all the rest. 😂

That’s the difference between simply fitting extensions and creating something truly bespoke.

A little introduction for all the new faces around here! 👋❤️

I’m Manuela, the hands (and occasionally the big mouth 😂) behind Ambitious Lengths, my private hair extension studio in Islington, North London.

I’ve been in the hair industry since 1995 and founded Ambitious Lengths in 2012.

After all these years, I’m still ridiculously passionate about what I do.

I specialise in bespoke hair extensions using beautiful single-donor Slavic and Mexican hair, individually sourced and matched to your natural colour, texture and density.

No factory-made colour charts. No rushing appointments. No fitting ridiculous amounts of hair just because someone asks.

I love a challenge, especially when it involves tricky colour matches or natural curls.

My philosophy is simple: the best hair extensions are the ones nobody knows you’re wearing.

And yes, I can be a little opinionated. But when it comes to your hair, that’s probably a good thing. 😉

“But I can’t go without my extensions for a few days…” 👀

I know. And I know some extensionists will consult while your current extensions are still fitted.

I prefer doing it the old-fashioned way.

Especially with a new client, I need to see YOUR natural hair without somebody else’s work in the way.

I need to assess your scalp, natural density, hair condition and any weak areas before recommending a method, amount or weight of hair.

And yes, that sometimes means going without extensions for a few days. 😬

But here’s the thing…

When you’re investing in beautiful, bespoke single-donor hair that, with the right care, can last for years rather than months, surely a few days without extensions is a small sacrifice?

We’re not talking about a quick, temporary fix. We’re talking about a long-term investment in quality hair, expertly matched and fitted to YOUR natural hair.

A few days of inconvenience for potentially years of beautiful hair? I’d say that’s worth it. 😉

Well… this was a first. 😂

A brand-new client, who had never been to me before, called me “shady and unprofessional” because I required a deposit to confirm her appointment.

I’ll admit, I found the wording quite insulting — particularly because deposits are standard practice for many professional hair businesses.

When you book with me, I reserve that time specifically for you. Depending on the service, that can be several hours of my working day.

A deposit isn’t anything sinister. It’s simply a commitment to the appointment — from both sides.

My booking policies are clear, they apply equally to everyone, and nobody is obliged to book if they’re not comfortable with them.

But having professional boundaries around my time certainly doesn’t make my business shady.

No deposit = no confirmed appointment. Simple, professional, and staying that way. 🤍
