As someone who teaches others to use the Pilates method, why do I continue to practise myself?
Simple- so I can do life better!
For me, Pilates is and always has been a compliment to everything else that I'm currently enjoying.
When I was just 9 years old it was introduced to me by the Royal Ballet as a way to enhance my technique and prevent injury.
When I lost my brother, it was a tool to drown out everything else, and come back to myself.
When I became pregnant, it was a way to maintain the strength I already had, and prepare me for labour.
Now, three years into motherhood - Pilates has become my go to when I need some 'me' time. A way to keep my prolapse as a minor symptom, not a life changing condition, and a way to maintain enough strength and control over my muscles and joints that I can take on life's biggest adventures with ease and joy!
