Feature: Sports Massage or Physiotherapy gift voucher for Father's Day
Benefit: Give Dad the gift of relaxation and recovery – because nothing says ‘I love you’ like a tension-taming treatment that puts him back in the game (or at least back to binge-watching his favorite shows without wincing)!

ACL injuries are one of the most common knee injuries, especially in sports that involve sudden changes of direction, jumping, or pivoting.

Symptoms can include pain, swelling, instability, and difficulty returning to normal activities. Whether you've recently injured your ACL or are recovering after surgery, physiotherapy plays an important role in restoring strength, movement, balance, and confidence.

A structured rehabilitation programme can help support recovery, reduce the risk of future injury, and guide a safe return to sport and everyday activities.

Every ACL injury is different, which is why rehabilitation should be tailored to the individual and their goals.

Manchester getting a Bank Holiday and sunshine at the same time?
Someone check on the Met Office — they might be as shocked as we are. ☀️🍻

Enjoy the Bank Holiday weekend, but remember:
💧 Hydration isn’t just for houseplants
🧴 Suncream is cheaper than aloe vera
🏃 “I’m still young” is not a proper warm-up before a 10k or a football kickabout

Your future self (and your physio) will thank you. 😅

Stronger core, stronger you 💪

Your core isn’t just “abs”—it’s your body’s powerhouse. A stable, well-conditioned core:

Reduces back pain by supporting your spine
Improves posture and balance for everyday movement
Boosts performance in sports and workouts
Lowers injury risk by keeping hips and pelvis aligned
Try these physio-approved moves 3–4x/week:

Dead bug – 2–3 sets of 8–10/side
Side plank (knees or feet) – 2–3 x 20–40 seconds/side
Bird dog – 2–3 sets of 8–10/side
Glute bridge – 2–3 sets of 10–12
Quality over quantity: slow, controlled reps, and breathe. Not sure where to start or dealing with pain? Our physiotherapists can tailor a safe, effective core program to your goals.

Book an assessment today and build a pain-resilient core from the inside out. 🧠🏋️‍♀️

Did you know Strava now enables recording of Physical Therapy? bringing users closer to a full picture of Their Fitness Journey. With the launch of Physical Therapy, athletes can say 'I showed up today, I did the work, and I'm still moving forward.'” said Matt Salazar, Strava's Chief Product Officer.

We've now created clubs on Strava for both Withington and WP Physiotherapy Clinics, so those who wish can join and tag us and we'll be able to monitor and track progress from there.

🌸 Breast cancer recovery doesn’t end after treatment. Many people continue to experience tightness, swelling, pain, fatigue, reduced shoulder movement, or scar discomfort long after surgery or radiation.

Physiotherapy can play an important role in recovery and quality of life by helping people regain movement, improve strength, and manage ongoing symptoms after breast cancer treatment. 💗

Some supportive treatments may include:

💧 Lymphatic drainage therapy — gentle techniques that may help manage lymphoedema and swelling after lymph node removal or radiation treatment.

🩹 Scar management — helping improve scar mobility, reduce tightness, and support comfortable movement following surgery.

🤍 Breast cancer physiotherapy — tailored rehabilitation focused on posture, mobility, pain management, strength, and returning to everyday activities safely.

Recovery looks different for everyone, and ongoing support can make a meaningful difference both physically and emotionally.

The Breast Physio specialises in treating a range of conditions related to breast cancer and its treatment:

Breast cancer-related lymphoedema (swelling)
Pain in the arm, shoulder, neck, or upper back
Restricted movement or weakness
Scar tightness
Cording (axillary web syndrome)
Reduced function following breast reconstructive surgery

🌟 Understanding Red Flags: What You Need to Know! 🌟

When it comes to managing pain and discomfort, recognising red flags—early warning signs that could indicate a more serious condition—is crucial for your health.

🩺 What are Red Flags?
Red flags are symptoms or findings that suggest the possibility of a serious underlying issue. They come in two forms:

🔴 Subjective Red Flags: These are symptoms reported by the individual, such as; unexplained weight loss and/or severe night pain

🔴 Objective Red Flags: These are physical signs observed by healthcare professionals, including: fever or significant swelling and/or signs of infection or inflammation

🧐 Why Spotting Them Matters:
Recognizing these red flags is crucial for early intervention and ensuring appropriate care. Ignoring them could lead to complications or delays in treatment.

💡 Know the Signs:
Being aware of these red flags empowers you to take charge of your health. If you experience any concerning symptoms, it’s important to seek professional advice without delay.

💡 Our Role:
Our experienced physiotherapists are trained to identify these red flags during assessments. We prioritize your safety and ensure that any concerning symptoms are addressed, guiding you towards the right treatment.
