💬 New Urgent Mental Health Support by Text Message 💬

People living in Manchestercan now access urgent NHS mental health support via text message.

If you are experiencing a mental health crisis — for example feeling mentally unsafe or severely distressed — you can text 📱 07480 635134 between 7am and 7pm for urgent support.

✔️ Free, secure and confidential
✔️ Available for all ages registered with a GP in Manchester
✔️ You can text for yourself or on behalf of someone else
✔️ Speak directly with a trained mental health practitioner by text message

The team will aim to respond within 4 hours. Messages sent after 5pm may be responded to the next day.

This service offers another way to access support for people who may prefer texting rather than speaking on the phone or attending face-to-face services.

You can still access mental health support 24/7 by:

Please note the surgery will be closed on Monday 25th May 2026 for the Bank Holiday.

With the warm weather forecast and temperatures set to soar 🌡️, please make sure you order your repeat prescriptions in plenty of time to avoid running out of medication over the long weekend.

You can request prescriptions via the NHS App, online services or by contacting the practice before the weekend.

🚧 Roadworks Notice – Wilmslow Road 🚧

Please be aware that major improvement works at the junction of Wilmslow Road, Ladybarn Road and Sherwood Street will begin on 18th May 2026 and are expected to continue until 25th January 2027.

These works are part of the wider Manchester Cycleway project to improve safety for pedestrians and cyclists.

Delays are expected, so please allow extra travel time and take this into account when travelling to the practice for your appointment.
